What's the longest thread in history of this place?

This has to be close.

and it's easily the dumbest topic ever. That has to be some kind of a record.

Here is this thread period: If this was Dave Campo's 5-11 team, Jerry isn't mouthing off. Jerry knows how good this team is now, so does the rest of the league. I like it when you tell a guy you are going to kick his *** and then you do it. Jerry's ego is just that to me. We do stuff different here, and we don't give a damn how you feel about it. That's texas, and that's Jerry. I dig that.

Ok I just watched it and other than it being Jerry Jones, I dont find one thing wrong with it.. I think the ****** bag that recorded it needs to be slapped around but in my mind thats everyone of us at one point or time.. Kinda makes me like him even more....;)

What is halarious is all the guys in this thread acting like Puritains who have never touched a drop of alchohol in their lives.

99% of the guys on this board over the age of 20 have been wasted at one point in thier lives or another and started talking ****. So to be throwing stones at Jerry when almost all of us have done the same thing is beyond hypocritical.

Besides, what exactly did Jerry say that was so controversial??? That Tuna was hired to silence the critics and help get a stadium approved??? This is like common knowledge to most fans, you guys seriously didnt already know this???

I wanna say:

I drink a ton, or well less now, but I used to be a boozer and a half.

I have never once blamed my actions on booze.(and I have embarrassed myself here drunk off my ***) I don't buy that, or believe it makes you someone you aren't. I have never said something ******** or raped some girl(ruthlessraper) because I was drinking.

If Jerry blames the booze I will never defend him again. But if he blames being human, well then, none of us should have a stone to throw.

Let me ask you do you Jerry may be a bit embarrassed about this now that it is being shown? I just think when you are in a position like Jerry where you are in the public eye it matters how you conduct yourself. If he was throwing a party at his house and had friends over and carrying on like this that would be different.
In my opinion, there would be zero difference IF someone at his party grabbed their cellphone, captured the moment and released the video onto the internet or the media. In this day and age, what someone says or does in both public and private venues is treated equally by media outlets.

Let me go off-topic for a sec though.

For some of you guys and gals, come on. Get with the program already.

It's User CP --> Control Panel | Settings & Options | Edit Options --> (scroll down almost to the bottom of the page and select the dropdown box under) Number of Posts to Show Per Page --> Show 40 Posts Per Page --> (scroll to the very bottom of the page and click) Save Changes

That's it.

It'll take you... what? Ten... fifteen seconds, tops?
For monster threads like this, you don't have to click through 31 pages or 47 pages or 94 pages or ~gasp!~ even 189 pages!

Right now, at this very moment, this thread is a whopping 24 pages at the 40 posts per page setting (hint * for the umpteen time * hint).

Use forum tools. They work.

Even more reason to watch your step when you are in the public eye. Going out getting toasted and popping off when you are the owner of one of the most visible sport franchises in the world is not a very smart thing to do. Many people across this country do not have issue about going out and getting wasted.

How is it that hiring Parcells allowed Jerry to build Cowboys stadium?

Is the assumption that Jerry couldn't have gotten sufficient financial backing if Parcells had not been the coach?

How so?

Good Lord.............How does one embarass themselves on a message board by not saying it? I didn't get the memo with the pictures. How do you procalim to be drunk off your ***, embarrass yourself and not blame it on the booze when basically you're blaming it on the booze. ?????

BTW - you don't need to pull the rape card to embellish a very weak point. It's apples and oranges.

I think you just did something with your *** again.

Bill Parcells not angry at Jerry Jones
In the wake of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' critical remarks during a hidden camera video, Miami Dolphins boss Bill Parcells isn't angry about the comments.

"I know how he really feels about me," Parcells told the Bergen Record.

Jones said Parcells "wasn't worth a (expletive)" and he hired him to coach the Cowboys only to sell tickets for his new stadium. He also mentioned "I love him" while talking about the coach who left under amicable circumstances

"We still have a good one," Parcells in reference to his relationship with Jones. "I think he was just pulling some guy’s leg. I’m not upset with it at all. He didn’t mean it."

Meanwhile, Parcells expressed confidence that Brandon Marshall will stay out of trouble.

"I think he will be all right," Parcells said. "He has grown up."

Some of the media around Dallas still inhales a gallon of provided booze along the 'sidelines' and then complains when some of their ice in a later drink was melting and diluting their 'drunken' states already. Go figure the slant provided...

Parcells got tired and quits...leaving Jerry the task of circling the wagons and walking all the way through the mess left behind by good 'ol Bill. THEN, after taking the media garbage for three seasons and working through personnel changes and supporting a growing Wade Phillips at the head coaches position....while 'on the side' building and successfully constructing one of the greatest constructions in the country only while the country was in full panic and chaos in the financial worlds....yea, this type writer bound with an ink ribbon has PLENTY of room to shout ego~~!!

Oh, and my suggestion to McMahon...stick to Graham Crackers instead of Cheerios....they are simpler in controlling once dropped on the floor. :(

I recently worked in a solids waste facility installing underground power and found out that a scumbag is a real mechanical item that does just as it implies. It's disgusting, in saying that has the person who posted the video of Jerry stepped forward to claim his 15 minutes yet?

Because the team stunk out loud and the majority of people blamed the fact that Jerry kept hiring the Campos of the world to coach the team so that Jerry could be "real" coach.

He had to show that he was making a legitimate effort to improve the team by bringing in one of the most respected guys in the game - a guy who would at the very least give the impression that no, this wasn't Jerry playing fantasy football with a real NFL franchise (which it turns out, he is).

Jerry began to dream about Cowboys Stadium long before he hired Bill Parcells. It wasn't just an overnight decision to create this football Taj Mahal. He has always wanted a Super Bowl for the DFW area and was told long ago that Texas Stadium was not a good venue.

As he was asking around and researching ideas he was told over and over and over again that getting the stadium meant he had to put a winner on the field. The biggest roadblock to that was Jerry's own poor coaching hire decisions.

The media has long considered Switzer, Gailey and Campo as nothing more than Jerry yes men. In other words enablers. When Jerry Jones went after Bill Parcells that perception changed and suddenly doors that had been closed to Jerry's stadium dreams began to open.

Suddenly there were financing discussions. Especially once a miracle happened and the 2003 Cowboys were 10-6. Now the salesmanship of the idea was at full throttle.

So looking back, at closed doors suddenly opened it is natural that Jerry would feel that was one of the things holding him back, his own proclivity towards yes men.

Parcells was not that, and believe it or not, Wade isn't either. I've been told that he stands up to Jerry more than even Parcells did. Or rather I guess that he is more demanding. It doesn't look like it because he is so gracious. Like when we got Paul Pasqualoni back. Wade truly appreciated that Jerry didn't waste any time. That makes him look soft in comparison to the gruff, I don't give a damn about anything Parcells. In truth, Wade sets some high standards.

It would have been fairly hard to market a new stadium with the franchise in the dregs of 5-11 with a mindless puppet like Campo around.

I am sure Jones could have foot the bill himself, but his expensive cathedral would be empty if the team was not contending.

I've assumed that Jerry has always wanted to field a winner.

Not because he wanted a stadium, but because Jerry just flat wanted to win.

Certainly it makes sense that Jerry knew that having a winner would improve Jerry's chances of building the statement stadium, but I've assumed that Jerry hired Parcells because Jerry truly came to believe that he needed someone like Parcells to help turn the team around.

I'd hate to think that Jerry cared more about building a stadium than he cared about winning. But maybe I'm being niave.
