Right, the "it's only a successful season if you win the Super Bowl" argument.

Begin eye roll sequence in 3.....2.....1.....

you are asking for this one pal. What's successful then?at least a playoff win, how many of those do we have in 15 yrs. Give it up

Are you implying Tony Romo should have started over quincy carter in 2003?

cause if so, please lets hear the reasoning behind that.

That is about as far out as opinion as I have ever seen you make.

and just to point out facts, Vinny was brought in to be a backup and to teach the young guys how to be a pro, it didnt make sense having two young guys again as the 1 and 2 in 04.

and ironically vinny did just that for romo. And in the end it was bill who had to convince Jerry that Romo could do it. Jerry was running around pumping up bledsoe heading into 06. that is the reason Romo played two whole games that preseason, that was bill putting romo out there to show jerry.

anyway, this interview isnt about that, its about the lack of respect he has for another executive to admit he just used his name to get something he wanted, like Jerry is so much more important or something. That is extremely disrespectful.

I really hope jerry was just kidding around and giving them the response they wanted and having some fun.

I'm stating I credit Romo no one else for hanging in there as broken down QB's were being brought in. Romo in the Oakland pre season game taking the risk and scoring on the play that was not called on the sideline is when BP stated the moxie Romo played with. Romo went out and earned his opportunity and made the most of it when he got the call.

As for the interview I did not hear it since it was removed from the thread. On Tebow it is no secret that Dallas was not drafting a QB that was stated a while back that was 1 position we were not looking to draft.

You mean the Testeverde who was only here one year? The QB who was forced to play because the current starter snorted and smoked himself out of the league ... .the one that Jerry reached for in the 2nd round, amid rumors that he smoked and snorted everything he could get ahold of in college?

Yes, that washed up relic.

The guy who had no future, but Parcells stuck with despite going 6-10 in 2004, giving Drew Henson what, a half against Chicago?

And after he retired, Parcells dug up another washed up relic he "trusted" in Drew Bledsoe . . . who Parcells hung on to for a year and a half before finally turning the reigns to a vastly superior player in Tony Romo.

Which was a half more than any other football man would give Henson for the rest of his career. .. which is what seperates football people from Jerry Jones. Unless you're talking about the Rhein Fire.

The funny thing is Vinny's future in the NFL still lasted longer than Henson's from that point.

K that is fine.

but you need to get your facts straight on vinny. Why cowboys fans can not recognize that vinny actually fullfilled what he was brought in to do is beyond me. Romo always credits vinny for teaching him things. That was what he was here to do.

He wasnt here to win the superbowl.

I think Jerry would have to murder someone before the "no big deal; nothing to see here" shills would object. Maybe not even then. Gotta admire their persistence, though. There's no amount of **** that they can't turn into shinola.

inorite ?

disciplinary action? For what?

I dont think he even was serious about the bill stuff.

but if he was he just makes himself look bad. Disciplinary action is nuts to even suggest.

For what he said. He's a representative of the NFL and the Dallas cowboys he shouldn't be drunk in public like this. Even if he wasn't serious about the Bill stuff he shouldn't be saying things like that. I see no difference between what Jerry did and what Bennett did and got fined for.

Success is relative to the position of the team. When Bill Parcells took us from 5-11 to 10-6, that was a successful season. Winning the division and playing in two divisional playoff games in the past three seasons, successful. Progressing from a bad team to a contender, successful.

Success isn't a static measurement.

NFL people talked high of Henson and at the low price he would be had for not many complained when we got him.

I don't think Goodell has the balls to fine Jerry.

Fair enough. I will give you those 3 years and those are recent so it is an upward trend. But 3/15 isn't good

And what the hell does he mean by "J's gotta have a yes man" in regards to Bill?.

I guess that the implication was that Bill was hired because he is the anti-yes man.

It doesn't surprise me that Jerry has convinced himself of this, but it is pretty amazing that he would share these feelings with strangers at a bar, no matter how lit he was.

I know why Vinny was brought here. 1 He was a vet 2 he played for BP that is why he was here. When Dallas had a losing record why did Vinny stay in the game. Hell Landry put guys like Kevin Sweeny in when he knew the season was done and gave young guys a chance to get out there so they could see him in game situation where was the benifet of continuing to play Vinny when the season was over?

All part of Jerry's master plan.

Now he can get more face time of that Celebrity Rehab show, produce a 2nd seasons of Irvin's version of "The Weakest Link" and all the while peddle a few more events back at the Spaceship.

That's make sense I suppose. Still a ridiculous thing to say. I don't buy it for a minute.

Hopefully Wade works out. Can't imagine any other "not worth a ****" coaches would want to come be his publicity move.

You're right that 3/15 isn't good, but a lot of the teams floundering can be traced to one specific mistake, not having a guy in place to take the reigns from Aikman.
