NFL people talked high of Henson and at the low price he would be had for not many complained when we got him.

You mean the "mystery NFL people" who wouldn' pay more than a 4th rounder for him, forcing Houston to trade him to their hated instate rivals?

The NFLs is so desperate for young, promising QBs that they'll pay a 2nd rounder for Charlie Whitehurst before he's completed an NFL pass. They'll trade two 2nd rounders and flip flop 1st rounders for Matt Schaub because he looked okay filling in for Vick a couple of times in Atlanta.

But they wouldn't go higher than a 4th for Henson.

That tells you what NFL people thought of him.

I know why Vinny was brought here. 1 He was a vet 2 he played for BP that is why he was here. When Dallas had a losing record why did Vinny stay in the game. Hell Landry put guys like Kevin Sweeny in when he knew the season was done and gave young guys a chance to get out there so they could see him in game situation where was the benifet of continuing to play Vinny when the season was over?

The season wasnt over in 04 really until the december loss against Philly.

In fact you are answering your own question. The nfc in 04 was horrible. We were still in it until that eagles loss, which we almost won but copper slipped on a ball that he would have caught for a first down and we would have been in business.

and romo has credited vinny for teaching him a number of things, one of them was his ability to focus and continue to prepare everyweek the same way.

Cowboys fans should be ecstatic vinny came through here looking back, he was a huge plus for the organization with his work ethic and mannerisms rubbing off on guys like romo and witten who loved vinny.

These idiots believe you just throw an unprepared quarterback out there and watch him sink.

Drew Henson wasn't even ready to handle NFL Europe (and I'm not even using hyperbole, he literally wasn't ready to handle NFL Europe competition), but Parcells was just supposed to throw him out against a dominant Bears defense when the team was still in playoff hunt.

He has missed time from the game there was no way they could more than what they did but it does not change the scouting reports on Henson and given the cap situation Dallas was in they could bring him in at a bargin price which is why we brought in guys like Leaf because the cap situation put us in a bind where we had to take chances at low cost.

So what...he owns the Cowboys, he's not on the playing field.

I thought it was funny..no big deal. I wonder how all these folks that are trashing him would like to have some of their skeletons shown?

We were in the hunt for what? We were not that good of a team and Vinny's age really started showing up. I like BP but sorry I do not think the man is beyond fault, he made a choice and stuck with Vinny and when the season was done Vinny was out and Bledsoe was in

Good thing he's not a high-profile owner of a pro franchise, then. This is one of the few times Skins fans can look down on us. I know, I know. "No big deal."

I really don't see the problem. He called Romo and miracle and trashed Tebow. What more could you ask for?

Snyder gets bombed in public and cusses out former coaches? Not that I know of. Did Murchison? Schramm? Landry? Same answer. Not a proud day for the franchise.

The wild card. If I remember correctly we were 5-8 and still in the hunt for the 5th or 6th wild card spot because the nfc was so awful.

winning over chicago was important, it would give us a chance to still make the postseason, throwing that away on henson who looked horrendous in that first half made no sense.

Vinny came in and made some plays to witten and then julius popped one and we won the game.

the following week we pulled out that miracle in seattle, at 5-7 on our way home to play new orleans and then at philly. We blew the new orleans game and then like I said we had philly on the ropes until copper slipped and couldnt catch the pass that would have been a big first down. We ended up losing 12-7. We almost got that one.

8-8 would have gotten us in, and around thanksgiving it was looking like 7-9 would get the 6th seed.

so that is what we were playing for. You can rewrite to fit some bill sucks agenda all you want, but the facts are the facts.
