I mean, I guess he should keep playing Rush because we really wont win with him at QB. So for those of us who want to tank, he is the best choice.

But still. Why did you use a 4th round pick on Lance?

This team is a madhouse of clowns, it doesn't know what it's playing for, it has no vision, it has no goals, only the individual ego is at stake, winning is important for what? To not be more pathetic than they already are? This rusty Jones is more pathetic than Al Davis ever was.

pretty obvious to me, he doesn’t want Lance to go out there and become Willie Beaman. Jerry is thinking of a future contract

This year has really crystalized what an incompetent boob this guy is. From not firing a single coach, to waiting too long to sign Dak and Lamb, to doing nothing in FA, to arguing Elliott was a better fit than the top backs in FA, to trading a 4th round pick for a guy you have no intention of playing (granted the Lance trade was in Sept 2023), etc.

Except Dak does not “need to figure out how to play a lot better”. It’s not like he’s playing for his next contract. Sam Darnold needed to play a lot better. Bryce Young needed to play a lot better. Dak just needs to be available. He got his.

Maybe because they realize after watching him that he's completely incompetent.

A player at that position can be so bad that you can't put him on the field or you're down 21-0 in the first quarter.

But yes, it was an idiotic trade, and this has been a disastrous year for Jerry. Of course, he won't really pay any price -- others will. It's good to be the king.

This is why this team is clueless, right now if I'm the GM, I'm playing Lance, the Cowboys should be scouring other teams practice squad rosters to see if there's players available to sign that they liked in college just to get a free look at them for the rest of the year to see if they can help next year, cut players like Zeke on the roster to fill with these practice squad players, the time to evalute is NOW and not trying to win meaningless games with Cooper Rush, Zeke etc..
