Jerry's not interested in starting Trey Lance

He said for next season, wins now are important for next year. 12-5 last year could lead to the reverse this season. How does that logic work?

Jerry: except this season. Look at this thing over here. Don’t look at reality. Over here-look at this! Please keep buying stuff…
Snake oil salesman.

Yet another attempt to keep the suckers believing. And more importantly, PAYING.

I mean, I guess he should keep playing Rush because we really wont win with him at QB. So for those of us who want to tank, he is the best choice.

But still. Why did you use a 4th round pick on Lance?

Feels like a guy with an impulse buy looking at used cars.

Ooh, former 3rd overall QB, yea I'll trade a 4th for him.

Ooh, former WR we had a 2nd round grade on, yea I'll trade a 4th for him.

You can't make this up

I have literally, LITERALLY, said that phrase every year, many times each year, since March 29, 1994.

Just realized... Jerry Jones' nonsense has compelled me to say that phrase far longer than Trey Lance has been alive. Crazy.

What's so damn funny? Please share your thoughts
Seeing you so riled up, Coach. Losing will be what's best for this team. Just watch. Cowboys need the better draft positioning for many reasons, especially with Overshown's career now in question. Too many holes to fill and not enough early round draft picks. The higher the draft pick, the better to trade down and pick up an extra mid-round draft pick or two.

What a stupid trade. So Jerry just gave away a fourth round pick that could have been a running back. How about talking to your coaches before you make a trade to see how a player fits in their scheme. So you guys trust this man with a top 10 pick to actually make the right pick? I certainly don’t…….

No one trusts them. This is more about a different approach and outcome. The team has managed to draft mainly good players in the top 15 picks. Drafting mid to late has not been as good.

said what exactly?

Jerry Jones would need 4 promotions to become an idiot. Complete waste of a 4th round accusation.

I really dont have an issue with Rush staying as the starter. I really dont have an issue with Jerry commenting on the roster since as GM its his responsibility to set the roster. Who starts and who doesnt really should be up to your coaching staff though....

he might be thinking to sign him for cheap this off season as the backup next year...he is done with Rush.
so probably in his simple mind he is thinking I will stash him away. not show anything and then sign him!!!! and sell a few jerseys in the process
I use to think like that too, but now i believe there is no method to Jerry's madness.

Exactly why the coaching pool for a Macarthy replacement will be so shallow.

Even Jerry has come to grips that Lance sucks.

We are clearly playing for a higher draft pick

And why is he making this decision? Getting tired of this. I’m a Jerry supporter but it’s starting to get old
30 years and its just starting? I admire your patience

For Jerry to not even be desperate enough to prove he was right by trading the 4th rounder must mean Lance is an utter disaster at QB during practice.
This is what I'm thinking.........he has to be pretty bad. Maybe he should consider moving to another position.......TE/WR/HB

If Jerry has a plan (and that's a massive IF), the only one I can think is that Jerry is trying lower Trey's value for next year by not playing him, and thus resigned him to a longer deal at a lower cost.

The team knows what they have in Lance. If he sucks, that's a sure fire way to tank the season and get a better draft pick. If Jerry thinks he could actually be a serviceable #2 or potentially a starter in a few years, playing him this year will only decrease the odds that he resigns with the team.

Again though, all this is based on the idea that we have an owner with a plan.
