The NFL Network has reported that Jim Johnson has passed away.

He was a great DC. I can't tell you how many times I wished the Cowboys could blitz like that.

May peace be with him,

Oh..I only think of it when I read things like this. Got a nice 2 inch scar on my face as an occasional reminder but I don't see it anymore. :)

But...thank you very much.

Thanks guy...but really, I pretty much ignore it.

It was a mind blower when it happened....odd to have your name associated with malignant skin cancer...but ya move on...and get a very different perspective about life.

So all is good.

Thanks :D

I'm stunned. I realize he was sick, but for his health to turn so negative is stunning. The man was a great DC. RIP Coach.

God be with Jim Johnson and his family. His body may have lost the battle with cancer but his heart, mind, and soul did not.

Longtime Eagles coordinator Johnson dies at 68

Posted: July 28th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: defensive coordinator, Jim Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles, Sean McDermott

Jim Johnson, who was the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator from 1999 to 2008, died today after a bout with cancer, the team announced.

Johnson was regarded as one of the NFL’s top defensive masterminds. His aggressive style kept the Eagles at or near the top of the league in nearly every major defensive category since he joined coach Andy Reid’s staff on Jan. 22, 1999.

Johnson is survived by his wife, Vicky; two children, Scott and Michelle; and four grandchildren, Katie, Justin, Brandon and Jax.

Damn. I won't forget this guy anytime soon. One of the best DC's to ever coach.

RIP Eagle.

Very sad, he was a great defensive coach.

Even sadder still, that's all I knew about him.
