I know what you are getting at and many Cowboys fans are ignorant of history on this one (ignorant not meant in any sort of pejorative or insulting fashion, but that they literally don't know the facts of how that deal went down)
Fact is--Bum Bright took less money from Jerry when selling the team than Bright could have gotten from other prospective buyers, because Jerry was the only guy who wanted to start fresh with a new coach.
Bright wanted Landry fired. Bright sold to Jerry for less because Jerry was the only guy who said he would do so.
it was one of the central deciding factors in the sale of the Cowboys. Landry's dismissal was as much or more Bum Bright's call, as it was Jerry's.
And I'm not "defending" Jerry as I"m sure you aren't. It's just that this narrative of how Coach Landry ended up being relieved of his duties is often greatly misunderstood. Jerry was a factor in that process but not the sole factor, by any means.
