If people are awaiting a Cowboys team as talented as the 1990s version, they're going to be sorely disappointed. It may be impossible to assemble a team that talented in the modern era.
Yep. It's laughable to even consider those requirements were somehow a prerequisite for a Super Bowl title.

That is the true ignorance of the whole "OMG we compared this team to 1991" crowd. They have no earthly grasp of the salary cap era or anything remotely close. The whole similarity is in the records of the 2 teams and how they finished. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It is intentional stupidity.

Correspondent Written on February 14, 2010 Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson believes the team has a shot to play in the Super Bowl it will host next year. "They made progress," Johnson said Sunday at Daytona International Speedway. "Winning the first playoff game and having success in December were strides. I don't think they're that far away. They are in the mix when you pick the better teams for next year." Johnson thinks the Cowboys still need game-breaking threats if they're to take the next steps. While he was impressed with the emergence of wide receiver Miles Austin, Johnson said the Cowboys need another receiver on the other side. "If they get a couple of game-breakers, they'll be right there," he said. "As much as I like Austin, they still need a game-breaker at wide receiver. With Roy Williams, the jury is still out. But I'm beginning to believe maybe he's not the guy. If they had a game-breaker on the other side, that would help."

At least someone in the know agrees with me. I actually don't care where the production comes from, we just need to score more points. My guess is we need another WR to get that production though. And I don't care who it is. RW would be just fine.
