Not one of those articles states that the were going to pull their starters, unless of course you've invented a new English language. There's a lot of maybe and what-if. I told you find to me a statement from the Colts in which they concretely stated we're going to pull our starters. You can't because they never made such a proclamation. Fact is it was being talked about ahead of time and yes Caldwell was not going to come out before the game and tell the press but during the week as players get ready for the game yes they damn well knew as backups where seeing more snaps during the week as they got ready for the jets game.

Colt players knew it and painter saw more snaps leading up to the Jets game. Did the Colts players know at what point they would come out? chances no but they knew they would not likely play the entire game. This was discussed ahead of time right after the Jags game.

They played to win for a half and the organization decided to pull the starters afterwards. It's pretty clear what happened, if you're paying attention. If they weren't trying to win the game, the starters would've played like a series or two.

The problem here Dooms is this is about football and this guy doesn't know anything about the game. Beyond hopeless to tell him how the NFL teams do not reveal stuff to the press. We could show him dozens of articles after the fact where Irsay, Pollian, Caldwell, and Colts players discussed it. Because the Colts didn't tell the press they were going to do it, he won't grasp the significance.

It's the same mentality of someone who tells you that Babe Ruth never hit 50 home runs in one season. You can show him source upon source that show he hit 60 and was over 50 several times. In the end, 60 is not 50 so Ruth never did it. In his infantile mind he is right and smart.

Coming from the guy who doesn't understand the significance 3rd down efficiency and YPA for a defense and thinks the current incarnation of the Cowboys is even in a roundabout way comparable to those of the 90s (maybe the late 90s ).
