I would like to think that RGIII could pull it together and maybe he could if he were willing to be a backup and if he's paired with the right quarterback coach.

But that piece by Cooley was pretty damning.

I personally believe RG3 is less of a long shot than Manziel, but I'm not sure if sitting this year humbled RG3 enough that he will be more receptive to coaching. And I'm definitely curious what he's worked on this year as far as mechanics go.

Bingo!

Jerry LOVES the attention it brings to Dallas. Do you know that the leading story (or at least the ones I've heard on sports shows like Mike & Mike, NFL Network, etc.) is whether Manziel will come to Dallas. They even played Jerry's interview talking about he's willing to take a risk on a player like Manziel.

Jerry may not be much of a GM, but he is a marketing genius. He knows how to keep the Cowboys in the news. I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped a bomb during Super Bowl week.
That's something I keep reminding my friends to watch out for. Dallas didn't make the playoffs. If there is one thing he is known for, it's Jones attempting to steal the spotlight from the league during the playoffs after his team has gone fishing. I wouldn't be surprised if Jones tried making some sort of splash between now and the Super Bowl too.

I think both of them have to give their head a shake and say to themselves what the heck are we doing. So much talent and they are both throwing it all away. Chances don't keep coming so unless they want to flip burgers the rest of their lives they better do something quick to right the ship.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Goodell tell Jerry once and other league owners to not still the limelight during the Superbowl and wait till it is over.

I don't know about talent, they are both athletic but what takes place between the ears in a short period of time where the QB has to make critical decision is where the difference between great and poor. I will give you that both guys are very athletic more so than Rodgers or Brady.

I don't think anything can happen anyhow because Griffen is still technically on the roster and the Browns won't make a move to cut Manziel until a GM is hired so I think this whole thing doesn't happen for awhile - however it certainly builds the anticipation which Jerry loves just as much.

I don't recall Goodell making that statement. You could be 100% correct though. Even so, such a request had better be league policy because words mean squat for practically any team owner--especially for Jerry Jones. I don't believe Jones is as callous about running his franchise as others do but I do agree that he will fully realize any marketing opportunity that he can conceive.

we will agree to disagree....I say worth a free look!!!

A very classy way to handle that disagreement good sir, kudos!

We'll both just have to wait and see what 'the boys upstairs' decide to do!

This is where we really don't know how good these two really are because they have not been on the field long enough to judge. With RG3 we saw in that incredible year what he is capable of, but can he return to that form? They certainly are athletic, but there are a lot of questions left to be answered. I honestly believe that Jerry is going to get one of them, which one I am not sure.

That's the other part of the equation that bothers me.

Could Griffin possibly 'get it'? Sure, why not? He's still young.

But after all of the quarterback failures not named Romo that I've seen in Dallas, I have zero confidence that the Cowboys could provide anything that it would take for Griffin to turn it around.

In his incredible year he was still a 1 read QB who relied on his feet and the Commander running game with Morris. Thing is RGIII never got better if anything he got worse. As the skins looked to throw the ball more he failed. Cousins on the other hand has continued to develop and improve. As for Manziel the guy has problems, we do not need that in Dallas. He has gone to rehab for drinking yet still out drinking. He can't control himself he is in no position to lead others. I think both are nothing more than a waste of time and media distractions while Dallas should be getting serious instead of dumpster diving at the most critical position

I'm sorry just my view I want nothing to do with these losers

Don't get me wrong they are not my first choices for this team, I just feel Jerry likes the publicity good or bad and might do it. I would rather they go after Matt Moore , Drew Stanton or trade for Kaepernick

If that is the case then Dallas is doing it for the wrong reason. Myself I think if a team is serious about the future of their franchise they look to the draft. Granted it is not 100% on the other hand these other QB have gone out and failed and will come with a higher pay check than a rookie will. If it my call I look to get a QB in the draft within the 1st 2 rds. If none are there that I like then I look to FA for backup only not long term. Myself I hope Jones learned a lesson when Troy retired and we ended up with reject after reject until we lucked out on Romo. It was pretty sad seeing arguments over the likes of Henson, Hutchinson, Carter, Leaf and a host of others when none of them were worth a damn

I want no part of RG3. I just watched Cassel and Weeden suck at reading the entire field for most of last season. RG3 does not have the mind to run an NFL offense.

Yes, but Manziel, for all his problems and distractions, is smart enough to know that Dallas is the primo team (of the universe) and he could one day lead the most glamorous team in the world. He won't squander that situation if it is presented to him. I really feel that Johnny Looseball was self-destructive, intentionally, to tire Cleveland. He understands that his continual examples of bad behavior is his ticket out of the mistake by the lake. He wants Dallas bad and he know the way out.
As far as potential, Manziel is head and shoulders (excuse the term) above RGIII.
RGIII might be this year's version of Vince Young -- stupid, a diva and a legend in his own mind.

I believe Stephen and Garrett would rule against Manziel. My choice if I had to choose would be RGIII.
Manziel is a problem child needs mental help football should not be in his future until he gets his life together if he keeps going down this path he will be dead before he is 30 coming to practice drunk fans you don't need this clown in Dallas he is clueless as to what a pro is !:omg:
