Just throwing this out there, but reports say deuce mccallister is on the block after this year which seems crazy to me.
Second, who is Peterson for the Browns?
That doesn't sound crazy to me. Reggie Bush is the Saints RB of the future and your team just drafted Antonio Pittman to be his compliment. If Pittman turns out to be a serviceable change of pace, sohrt yardage back, then it makes perfect business sense to trade McCallister while he still has value.Twyst;1500295 said:Just throwing this out there, but reports say deuce mccallister is on the block after this year which seems crazy to me.

IF JuJo has the type of season you speculate, then I would trade HIM if Jerry & Co. really wanted McFadden (and has a guaranteed shot at him in the draft). We could get a higher draft choice (maybe a 1st rounder in 2009?) for JuJo than we could for MB3.....jdub2k4;1500033 said:Ok, since we don't have much else to talk about, I want to present this scenario. This is Jones' contract year, and he appears to have a huge chip on his shoulder to prove himself. So let us assume that Jones has a breakout season and rushes for 1,600+ yards, while Barber maintains his average of about 600 yards per season. I believe it is safe to assume that McFadden is a better RB than Barber. So if Arkansas RB McFadden is available when the Cowboys pick next year, wouldn't it be wiser for the Cowboys to trade Barber for maybe a 3rd or 4th and grab McFadden while keeping Julius Jones?

I have ALL the confidence in Jerry to get JuJo signed IF he has a big year. Then, they'll have a tough choice to make. Take a chance on an unproven, potentially franchise-type back or keep JuJo. Either way, it's a win-win situation for the 'Boys. We keep JuJo and use our 1st rounders somewhere else or trade JuJo (which could net us a high draft choice if he has a big year) & draft McFadden. I don't see us losing in these scenarios.....abersonc;1500393 said:Again, you can't trade a free agent.

Second of all Barber is a RFA next year and the best we can do is slap a 2nd round tag or a 7th round tag on him. Its impossibel to trade him for a 3rd because of his RFA status.

Actually, YES. It makes LESS sense to lose JuJo for nothing. IF Jerry & Co. decided that they really wanted McFadden BUT did not want to lose JuJo for nothing, how else would they make it work? They have to sign JuJo (since he'll be an URFA) and the Browns have to do their part for all this to work out. It makes perfect sense.....dargonking999;1500422 said:So you're saying, to sign JJ and then trade him? to draft another RB, that may be something in the NFL?
Does that really make sense to you?
