Yes, let's RESIGN the LESSER RB to a big contract and then draft McFadden and get rid of our BEST RB who still has a year left on his rookie contract... a very CHEAP rookie contract.

That's intelligent. That's smart business. Pay more for less and get rid of your better player. Real real smart.

Wow.

How about we let JuJo go, keep MB3 and his cheap rookie contract to stay in the role he's EXCELLED at for us (backup/3rd down back/goalline) and draft McFadden?

You know MB3, in that role, scored 16 TDs for us last year. And you want to trade him?

Ok, then. What evidence do you have that says Barber is a better RB than Jones? Obviously the coaching staff didn't think so. Otherwise, he would have been the starter. And don't use that "Barber scored 16 TDs" argument becuase it was Julius carrying the load down to the goaline, when Barber came in for the cheap TD.

Actually, YES. It makes LESS sense to lose JuJo for nothing. IF Jerry & Co. decided that they really wanted McFadden BUT did not want to lose JuJo for nothing, how else would they make it work? They have to sign JuJo (since he'll be an URFA) and the Browns have to do their part for all this to work out. It makes perfect sense.....

Do you know what that would make the cowboys look like. Oh hey, lets sign our FA so we can trade him. No one would want to come to the cowboys, and we would lose all respect. That is not smart, in any sense.

If Julius has a great year.....slap the franchise tag on him and draft McFadden

So you would want to, pay a huge amount of dollars in one year, for a RB, and then pay a huge rookie salary to Mcfadden?

I guess you want us to start looking like the deadskins

Exactly -- why are some people so in love with a guy who had never played in the league. Folks were very hot on Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, and Cadillac Williams too -- would anyone be excited about taking one of those guys with a super high pick now?

I didn't think any of those RB were worth a top 5 pick. Right now, I think McFadden is worth a top 5 pick.

I question how good McFadden will be in this league. His only attribute is speed, and we have all seen what that has done for Julius Jones. Almost nothing. Granted he is faster, but so is the NFL. He WILL NOT expose the NFL like he has done in college.

Have you ever even WATCHED him play?

You forgot Ki-Janna Carter. I'm not a Fadden fan. He is very fast, but the wind can blow him over. I would be more willing to draft McFadden and trade him and our on first rounder to the Browns for Peterson. (providing Peterson doesn't get injured next season! ;)

The Browns didn't draft Peterson, Genius.

What evidence? My own two eyeballs.

We kept MB3 as the backup cuz JuJo couldn't do the jobs that MB3 does (short yardage, 3rd down back) as well as MB3 does them. BP wanted to split carries. With MB3 as the starter he wouldn't be able to do that cuz he'd have to KEEP MB3 in the game more then he'd have to keep JuJo in the game as the starter.

And cheap TDs? What freakin' games did you watch last year? MB3 EARNED his TDs. Get off JuJo's jock and learn the game.

It was a typo and I've already noted it. Thanks, for the "Genius" compliment, but I was already aware of that fact.

Btw, if that Charger car is your project. Why does it have NY plates and you claim to be in Laredo, TX?

...just wondering. ;)

When did I claim that charger was MY charger?

That charger belongs to Mike Musto in Queens (?) New York. Mine is in the link, not the pic.

So much for your genius status.

Oh, I see.... so we purposely kept our best RB off the field for the majority of the time because we didn't want to keep him in the game that much? Gotcha. Makes perfect sense now.....

Ok, since we don't have much else to talk about, I want to present this scenario. This is Jones' contract year, and he appears to have a huge chip on his shoulder to prove himself. So let us assume that Jones has a breakout season and rushes for 1,600+ yards, while Barber maintains his average of about 600 yards per season. I believe it is safe to assume that McFadden is a better RB than Barber. So if Arkansas RB McFadden is available when the Cowboys pick next year, wouldn't it be wiser for the Cowboys to trade Barber for maybe a 3rd or 4th and grab McFadden while keeping Julius Jones?
what if we trade both

Who is our best RB? All to often Jones was a non-factor in many game and it was not until the 2nd half of game when Barber would help spark a sputtering offense. No doubt Jones had some good games as well but his play has been very inconsistent and that will have to change if he expects to be back after this season.

No! JuJo was the starter so he HAD to of been the better RB! Period!

Nevermind that Barry Freakin' Sanders once backed up Thurman Thomas at OkSU. Let's just ignore that little fact.

Thats what having a RB with fresh legs coming off the bench against a tired defense does for you. But could Barber have had the same production or better as the starter?

I just hope Phillips allows competition for the job. Barber has only had the chance to start 2 times and in 1 of the 2 starts put up 127 yards on the day. Can he handle a bigger share of the load? I don't know but I do think he has shown enough to compete for the job.

Both turned out to be pro-bowl, hall of fame caliber RBs. So what's your point?

BTW, Hambrick backed up Emmit Smith at one point, but he sure wasn't the second coming of Emmit Smith once he got the starting job.
