Jones and His Incredible Ability to Defeat Probability

Jerry isn't trying to win anything and the sooner fans realize this the better off you'll be. Jerry is just a rich dude having fun while printing money year over year.
as long as no one is being tortured or extremely ripped off...i have no problem with this

should the league intervene? prossibly.

but he is making everyone money, so no one cares. hopefully no one is getting screwed.

There are obvious advantages to being the wealthiest team in football that have nothing to do with the salary cap and JJ has refused to take advantage of that time after time....He could have money whipped the GM, scouts, and/or high level on-field decision makers from the consentient winners in the early-mid 2000's but of course he refused to because it's his toy......

He could use his wealth for a competitive advantage and he does not. His greed limits him severely.

post doesnt make sense.

JJ has taken advantage of being wealthiest franchise, and it has nothing to do with cap.

what advantages are you speaking of? being a penny-pinching franchise doesnt attract players. what benefits should he take advantage of if not winning or money, if wealthiest franchise?

Jerry is really destroying his legacy.
Its really sad.
He had such an outstanding start.
If he would have just been willing to stay in the background, he could have been highly respected.
As it is, he has run off most serious fans of this team.
As a fan of the Cowboys for 50 years he has destroyed my enthusism for this team.
Jerry never wanted to be another Clint Murchison - an owner a lot of people could not tell you who he was.

Though you sort of understand Jerry, I mean if you ask nearly anybody even up to my age (70 tomorrow) about the early Cowboys, you'd hear them mention Staubach, Lilly, Hayes, Too Tall and Renfro. Later you'd hear them mention White (Randy), White (Danny), Henderson, Martin and so on. Might even hear of Meredith, Hayes or Garrison.

But would you hear them mention Clint Murchison? Doubt it, maybe not even Tex Schramm.

I think Jerry knew that going in, so he makes darn sure the name Jerry Jones will forever be attached to the Dallas Cowboys. And if that is in a disparaging way, well, you know what they say - "Any publicity is good publicity,".

To Jerry, being known is the end all. I'm sure he'd love to be known more for winning the most SBs, but if not, he'll gladly trade being remembered in a bad way instead of not at all...

I think Jerry is obsessed with doing the opposite of what everyone thinks he should.

If 90% of the media and fans say “Ben Johnson is the no brainer HC hire” then you can rest assured that Jerry won’t even interview him.

Nobody wants anything to do with Schottenheimer as a HC, so what’s Jerry do? He seriously flirts with it.

I think he thinks that if he goes the way people think is the correct way, then he won’t be doing it “his way” because he would just be doing what everyone says he should do.

If you think someone would be a great hire for the Cowboys you would stand a better chance of getting that person hired by telling Jerry how much of a bad fit he would be than you would by telling Jerry how great they would be.
:hammer:

Why is anyone shocked at this point?? Everyone should know better.

He could have offered scouts, coaches, GM of other winning teams way more money to come to Dallas but he didn't, it makes plenty of sense you're just not getting it or maybe I didn't make it clear enough for you.

We are nearly at 32 years which nicely aligns with a simple game of chance......

32 team league, names in a hat drawn randomly you'd expect in 32 attempts, 1 superbowl win, 2 superbowl appearances, 4 NFCC appearances.

Forget SB, wins, we've had zero, ZERO NFCC games when 4 is expected.

It truly beggers believe.

Happy milestone Birthday. Hope I make it that long.

To be quite honest, you don’t seem much more than a day over 69 and a half.
:lmao2:

Working on my bad Dad jokes. Someone has to amuse me. May as well be me.

Interesting take.
Its a shame how its worked out for us Cowboy fans.
The 3 SB wins were really nice, so maybe its worth the 29 years of wandering in the desert ?
Be curious what other here think ?

The fan base is divided on that, I for one believe he does want to win but only his way. He just is unwilling to do the right thing.

I detest the idiot as much as the next guy but I don't buy in to the he does care its ONLY money.

Just my 2p worth.

whats lame about your post is...

youre piggy-backing off RECENT info that is not verifiable

why hog-tie your post to recent info? I bet you can fake my reality and make fake receipts from 10 years ago to try and prove you have been saying Dallas is cheap with coaching for years. thats lame, whatever you are.

why is this board just this year saying this if its been around for ages? are you into truth drip? are you into flexing? what is it?

you dont make sense to me at all.

Moore schemed guys open and then took it away and no one on this board will talk about it. Some lame hive mind stuff.

you are side stepping

Jerry's biggest weakness in being GM, is his inability in hiring the right Coaches.
Except for Jimmy and Bill, the other hires have been underwhelming.
What is really bad, is his inability to admit failure and cut bait once its obvious that he picked the wrong guy.
Jason Garrett for 9.5 years happens on NO other NFL team.
He seems to value familiarity more than change.
That does not work in the NFL.
well, because he doesn't want to pay and two he doesn't want to lose the attention a top coach would get and then give up control.
Jerry loves cameras and radio and listening to himself.
his biggest weakness is winning is not his top priority.
