People are turning on him cause he made that excuse about parcells making him run like a robot....and while some players have improved their play with wade's "let playmakers make plays" attitude, he has been even worse this year.

Yea, Julius is a laugh.

He was given ample opportunity this year splitting carries nearly 50/50 with someone who is clearly better than him, and guess what? He was outperformed by Barber, plain and simple. No Parcells to blame this year.

I agree. I did not like the excuses I think the finger should always start with the man in the mirror before pointing at others. Jones made a big issue of this before camp and his play this season has been the worst of all in terms of production.

I think Jones is a guy in need of a fresh start, I don't know if that will get his career going or not but I don't see it changing in Dallas. My hope is he can go out and have a good post-season this year and help this team but in the end I have felt this was going to be the last season for him in Dallas.

I don’t hate the guy but I do expect more out of the RB position than he has shown in the last 2 seasons in Dallas

I was hoping there would be some quote or something in this blurb. I think it's a given that he won't want to return here. What isn't a given is whether or not there is a team in the NFL desperate enough to offer him a starting job.
Seriously, did you look at the running back numbers this year? He can get a job somewhere. He's not complete garbage.

Did we get any sort of report on why he was pissed off on the sidelines in Washington?

He seemed to be the only one showing any fire.

What is up with the local media that they don't even ask about this stuff?

Why do something that requires a little thought and effort when there are important things like Anklegate and Jessica to report about?

Define "complete". :eek::

Where could he be a starter? Who has a current starting RB who is worse than this guy?

The reason why people hate Jones:

"What the hell is Jones in there for? We need Barber!"

After that is said, play results in no gain, and the drive ends in a punt.

I mean, come on, how often have you experienced this while watching the game with friends? :D

Exactly.

I'm not sure why folks have turned so much hate towards him. IIRC, he hasn't said anything to be a distraction to this team throughout this season. for me, that's all I require. If the team is moving in another direction at a player's position, just be patient and wait until after the season and then do your talking.

Got a lot of props for Bledsoe when he did the same after Romo took over.

I think the term "hate" is tossed around too much these days. Doubt anyone's feelings rise close to that level. I think most people are very disappointed in not only him but how he was handled here. That probably sums it up best--disappointment. And people are so ready to move on... like last year.

My diatribe usually ends with "Do Jason Garrett, Tony Sporano and Wade Phillips all have the same learning disability?" How can they not see what a bad idea putting Julius Jones on the field is?

The real question though is: Now that we know he feels that way, can we afford to play him at all during the playoffs? I'm not sure I could trust a guy who let his feelings be known like that.

Well, if he's smart, he can try to make some impression with his play in the post season. Giving a half hearted attempt in important games, will surely insure he'll remain bottom tier...

He'll get a chance on the basis of 'change of scenery' kind of hope/attitude and I wish him luck. I had some serious hope after his first year and am pretty let down. I don't hate him or think bad of him, I just don't think he's what this team needs.

Some hilarious responses in this thread though... :lmao:

People turned on him last year pre-robot talk. Fans are fickle people and if a player isn't great or up to their expectations, then he's scum.

Julius did some good things and he did some sucky things for this organization, but it's not like he completely mouthed off and pissed on the team. He's been a good teammate for all intents and purposes.

So I wish him well on his next team.
people called for Barber last year but i dont consider that turning on jones, just asking for the better player, but many still defended jones.

Now people are putting out a certain hate towards him. what we hear now is completely different from last year. I dont feel ill towards Jones but i just dont think he's anything more than a backup at the nfl level.

Texans
Broncos
Cardinals - saw a blurb that Edge could be gone.
Lions - wouldn't that be a hoot? Jones for Jones
Bengals - If Rudi J. doesn't recover from injuries
Seattle
Chicago

There's a place for him in this league.

Biggest waste of a down in Cowboys history. A brilliant draft move by Parcells.

Actually, Coach Parcells got the most out of him from what I see.

He's been an even bigger disappointment this year when he's allowed to do what he wants.

I wish I had kept score, but I am sure there are a few in this very thread who bought the "robot" theory, hook line and sinker.

You know who you are.

Also remember he is playing on a good team. With TO in the lineup he doesnt see 8 men in the box a lot. Put him on a bad team that cant pass and does anyone think he could carry that team.

I don't agree with half of those - but Seattle would be an interesting place for him. If he gets a job somewhere as a starter, that's probably it. Chicago would be a distant second, IMO. Other than that, I don't feel that he'd get a starter's job anywhere, especially after his unshackled performance this year. He's just *that* bad, unfortunately.

He was the ultimate tease. Five straight games where he does nothing, then a monstrous game out of nowhere. Simply couldn't put it all together.

He never even had the monster game this year. It has been two years, realistically speaking.

Just going by some of the responses in this thread, there is a certain amount of personal animosity towards him.

Whatever he is or isn't in this league is still up for debate. What we do know is his time here in Dallas is done and I knew that in training camp.

There are a lot of players who seem to turn it on when they get to their 2nd team or they bust out of the league. But I think if Troy Hambrick can hang onto the league for 3-4 years after his DC tenure, surely Julius can do the same.

Some of those teams will probably draft a RB, I'm sure there will be other FA RBs as well.

Also, out of those teams, who would be willing to pay JJ multi-million to be their feature back?

Not saying that he wouldn't get a starting gig, but I don't believe lot of teams will be knocking on his door.
