Someone needs to inform JJ that he never had a prayer of returning. This was his idea of a lame preemptive strike.

This is of course all true and accurate despite no quotes or anything else.

Rumor has it that Julius got tripped up and fell to the ground when he went to express his feelings to the writer.

JJ is a smaller, faster to fall down or run into blocker version of Tham

The real question though is: Now that we know he feels that way, can we afford to play him at all during the playoffs? I'm not sure I could trust a guy who let his feelings be known like that.

He'll play his little heart out cause he knows the better he plays, the better his chances are at making more money and at having the possibility of being the lead running back for another team.

Julius Jones - RB - DAL - Jan. 8 - 2:06 am et Potential free agent Julius Jones reportedly has zero interest in staying with the Cowboys beyond this season.
He wants to be a feature back, but will likely be disappointed after averaging a career worst 3.5 YPC in 2007. Jones would still be a nice fit in an offense that needs an explosive pace change. Arizona and Chicago make sense. Jan. 8 - 2:06 am et

Feature back lol
That's convenient, since the organization and 99% of the fanbase have zero interest in dude sticking around. Have fun disapponting the hell out of whatever team is dumb enough to pay you a dime, Julius.:laugh2:

It sucks to see JJ go but if the guy is not happy here then he needs to leave..Im not like alot of you here that hate the guy. but when we got him we were all fans right? how fast people forget about that.. If only Bill had not been his coach for that long before turning him into a robot.

The timing for this is horrible. He was not quoted in the article, so it's probably more media nonsense. But why now? This team needs to be unified. Blasted mediots. Everyone knows that Julius wants to be a featured back. What RB doesn't? Creating this "story" when we're about to embark on our playoff season is classless.

Good points I was thinking this myself. The timing is horrible on this story. Oh well, just add some more doom and gloom for the cowboys now.

Julius had some phenomenal games with us here in his first two years. Something went wrong. Don't know what. But he is a likable young man. I hope he goes somewhere where he can be productive. Shanahan in Denver would probably know how to use a guy like him. I think others have pointed this out already in this thread.

Maybe if he could break an arm tackle he'd be more featured! My grandma has more fight than him, and she's 88.

Well Bill figured that Androids are superior to weak humans. The guy was a Robot and still couldn't produce.

I think JJ gets too much abuse on here.

It's funny, but before Parcells started platooning the runners in Dallas, I never heard anyone complaining about JJ's style or his production. I'm not trying to defend him as a great back or say that he should get MBIII's carries, but back when he was getting 20 + carries a game, everyone seemed very satisfied with him, loved his potential, thrilled at the great runs and great games like he produced against Seattle, and only suggested we bring in a power back for short yardage.

Now the guy is getting 6-8 carries a game most of the time, and people seem to think he should be making something big out of it. In the past month, MBIII has done virtually nothing in the running game either, getting equally abused against the Commanders in that final game, yet not a word about it.

I'm ready to let JJ walk, but unlike most fans here, I'd still like to bring in a featured back with the speed and knack for going on the long runs rather than just see more of Barber. However, I won't be surprised at all to see JJ get on a team that gives him 20 carries a game and see him cracking the 1000 yard mark every year.

there was a day roy williams could play at a high level also. players slip. sometimes slide way down.

Julius Jones once was a good running back in his rookie year! He was fast and elusive but now all he does is anger me now because he falls down like a on first contact!
Barber is going to take the NFL by storm next year as the starting tail back!

:D The feeling is mutual! Good Riddance! :D

another turning point, a fork stuck in the road, time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go, so make the best of this test known as life, it's not a question, but a lesson learned in time, it's something unforgettable, but in the end there's right, I hope you have the tiiiime of your life

everyone

btw, I think Julius would be a great fit for a team who struggles in 3rd and 4th and 1 situations, cuz he's guaranteed to get you 1 yard

I think most of us were figuring Jones would be gone before the next season kicked off - looks Jones has figured this out as well. So he said he wanted to move on - no great shakes to me.

Every year the playoffs provide some surprise players who seem to rise up to the occasion from seemingly outta nowhere. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Julius Jones was one of those guys this year. He's busted off a few serious runs this season that were called back due to some stupid miscue or another. But the burst still seems intact - he just hasn't been getting or hitting the right holes. His game's not power but speed. With a well-rested and healed OL, Terry Glenn, TO, AND Witten all on the field for the first time this season - we may start seeing some gaping lanes in the run game. I don't care for Julius too much in heavy traffic - but if you can spring him into the secondary... he can still break a few ankles.

Hmmm... kind of a bad time to mention this I would think.

Who knows... maybe he can go to the Jets and be the feature back. Think his brother would mind?? Or would anyone be able to tell the difference between the two?
