When I saw the title on the thread I was hoping you meant Jerry.

I think JJ gets too much abuse on here.

It's funny, but before Parcells started platooning the runners in Dallas, I never heard anyone complaining about JJ's style or his production. I'm not trying to defend him as a great back or say that he should get MBIII's carries, but back when he was getting 20 + carries a game, everyone seemed very satisfied with him, loved his potential, thrilled at the great runs and great games like he produced against Seattle, and only suggested we bring in a power back for short yardage.

Now the guy is getting 6-8 carries a game most of the time, and people seem to think he should be making something big out of it. In the past month, MBIII has done virtually nothing in the running game either, getting equally abused against the Commanders in that final game, yet not a word about it.

I'm ready to let JJ walk, but unlike most fans here, I'd still like to bring in a featured back with the speed and knack for going on the long runs rather than just see more of Barber. However, I won't be surprised at all to see JJ get on a team that gives him 20 carries a game and see him cracking the 1000 yard mark every year.

I agree with everything you said.

I mean seriously people did he kill your dog or something?

He was a good Cowboy for a few years and I wish him the best of luck, we can only dream to play for the Cowboys, so get off his back.

That would've been awfully stupid of you. Not many owners give a damn about their team the way that Jerry does.

Wow .... there is not even a quote by JJ , yet everyone assumes he said this.

These are the same people (the media) who cannot eben tell the difference between 6-7 Witten and 6-1 Romo.

Please people ...... be careful about crucifying one of our players over heresy.

For a while I thought that I was the only one thinking that.

I have been *****ing about julius jones since his rookie year, yeah even after he strung together all those great games.
Never saw it in the guy.

Well, that's good news.

The offensive line's insurance premiums will go down without the constant threat of getting hit from behind.

Oh how I'll miss his myriad of moves in the open field... you know; he dodges back and forth in one place before someone finally runs up and tackles him.

A lot of green must confuse Julius.

If Julius Jones told someone this, he is a malcontent. If you are leaving, quietly leave. Show some class. He ran his mouth about how Parcells made him a robot and this season he has arguably been less effective behind a much better line.

The issue about the Cowboys resigning him or not has nothing to do with whether he plays better somewhere else. The bottom line, for whatever reason, is that he has not performed as we had hoped he would and that is not likely to change. Moreover this team istrying to win a superbowl, not just get to .500, so there needs to be an upgrade over him whether it is as a starter, or a backup to MBIII.

It would not surprise me to see Jones do better somewhere else when he gets a change of scenery. It would also not really surprise me to see him end up having to be a backup next year. I do not think he will start unless it is for a team that doesn't have much of a running back on the roster.

It is time for him to move on and it the team, and potentially Jones may both be better off for it.

I don't blame him for wanting a fresh start - on the other hand - I'm glad he wants one.

I think Jones will find himself in a situation like Ken Hamlin last year. No one will want to sign him to a long term deal. He'll be forced to sign a 1 or 2 year deal, and he'll have to compete for playing time just like he did here. No one with a brain is going to hand him a starting job.

What is up with the local media that they don't even ask about this stuff?

he's simply not on their agenda...they aren't necessarily interested in covering the team (other than the beat guys) so much as they are pushing their agenda. and the beat guys just end up being research staff for the talking heads..

Rumor has it that Julius got tripped up and fell to the ground when he went to express his feelings to the writer.
