Jordan Schultz: My sense is LVE and Donovan Wilson will likely have new homes in 2023

Giving up on Clark is laughable. Great prospect. I do agree with need another as I would love to see LVE punted.

I would have no problem with a LB in the first or 2nd.
Bring in Wagner. Problem solved. And no learning curve under Quinn.

I like Wilson and LVE, but just like Schultz, they are replaceable. Very nice to have, but they aren’t difference makers. I’d rather save money for Diggs and Parsons.

Not giving up on Clark but I really wished he showed something.

Dont want LVE either - I say sign Wagner and draft a LB in first or second like you said.

I think LVE would be a huge loss. Who in the LB group is going to make the defensive calls and get the defense lined up correctly? Cox couldn't even make the active roster and Clark has 398 career snaps. You'd be hard pressed to ask a rookie to come in and do that. You could sign a vet like Bobby Wagner, but is 33 year old Wagner even an upgrade anymore over LVE? This just seems like it's opening up another hole in the defense and that it goes against the grain of the "Building through the draft" blueprint that's been touted by the front office.

This. Even if signing Wagner is the gameplan, you're not really saving any money by paying him, nor lowering your risk (LVE's neck vs Wagner's age cliff).

You've seen LVE play in this defense and excel. Just pay him and keep the train rolling.

Lets say we dont resign LVE - all of a sudden the LB room is a humungous concern.

Barr is absolutely done, shouldn't be on the team.

Clark to me showed very little - was way too tentative - yes I know he's coming back from injury and missed camp but dayum he didn't look good.

Cox - know what happened to him but he couldn't get any real playing time.

That real bad, so you almost gotta sign Wagner and draft a LB.
Agree on Clark but I’m hoping he will show more this year. Cox, why couldn’t he fill the Kearse roll? He’s pretty thin, I forget his 40 time but I’m thinking it’s as good as Kearse.

LVE was pretty dam good imo in 2022. Is $7m a year reasonable price for a middle lB’er?

Dont know about Cox - gotta be a reason he couldn't see the field.

Dont know if there is enough film on him this year to even give an educated guess - gonna have to trust the coaches on this one.

But would you pay 8 for LVE? Or just get Wagner for the same
yes i'd give 8 to LVE. Like the other guy said Wagner was commanding nearly 20. Not giving either that kind of money but 6-8 without a doubt that is cheap for a starter.

The Cowboys run more 3 safeties than 3 lbs. Wilson is essentially the 3rd LB and I don't like possibly losing both.

LVE is a progress stopper and a medical risk. Fine with him leaving. Would like to keep Wilson but not at a premium
This is sensible. Which means we will overpay LVE and let Wilson go.

Probably came back too soon. I wouldnt judge him yet. By all the accounts the guy is a stud and a great leader.

I admit I would have liked to see more, but it was unrealistic with the time and the injury.

Cheaper to pay LVE.

Plus Quinn likes LVE.
