I’ll be so mad if we let him go finally a good safety
Well, Kearse has been a really good safety since we picked him up. Hooker hasn't been bad. Mukuamu has shown nice potential. And they like Bell as well. So I don't think they feel the same about the position as you do.

I'd prefer to keep Wilson because he's more a physical tone-setter than those others, but I also think Quinn really makes good use of the safety position to allow players to stand out there.

I would love them to bring in Wagner. But not for more than 10 million.
I’d do it for 12. That would be my cutoff. With a very incentive laden contract. It’s Bobby Wagner. He automatically makes us a better team on defense than last year. And that’s saying something

Thanks to Prescott the Cowboys cant afford to keep these guys. Besides these guys want a ring. They have seen enough to know Prescott isn't good enough at crunch time.

My opinion on Wilson, was it him or Quinn's use of him.
Great on the blitz, but it wasn't like he was a ball hawk. I am not sure about his pass coverage, was it good or average or under whelming?

Could another player be plugged in?

I prefer he is here, but at what cost?

LVE, he will test the market and see his value. Will he give calls a chance to match. If not, at least bring a possible comp pick, depending any offset signings.
I also would be fine if he stays.
It's both. Quinn used him as the extra LB in big nickel and he excelled.

The rub is that he has not demonstrated he can play deep S. Those are the ones that are hard to find.

How are we not re-signing these two when we don't have their replacements? They were just part of one of the best defenses in the league.

That's arrogant and foolish if you ask me, we can make plenty of cap space. Hopefully they are just trying to negotiate a better deal.

I'm okay with LVE leaving but that literally leaves us with nothin at LB with Quinn using Micah as a pass rusher so much. So who do we replace him with? FA scraps? Rookie? The smart play here is to let LVE test the market b/c I don't think there is one with his neck history. Nobody is going to garantee him money beyond 1 season.

So why let LVE leave?

Dallas wants leverage over Pollard more than they do keeping LVE.

I get where you are going.

But Wagner is not cheap.

Maybe LVE will take a team friendly deal but he played last year on a prove it. Wilson likely wants to get paid.

Lets say we dont resign LVE - all of a sudden the LB room is a humungous concern.

Barr is absolutely done, shouldn't be on the team.

Clark to me showed very little - was way too tentative - yes I know he's coming back from injury and missed camp but dayum he didn't look good.

Cox - know what happened to him but he couldn't get any real playing time.

That real bad, so you almost gotta sign Wagner and draft a LB.

The good news is, in terms of the draft, this is a very LB heavy draft. We could feasibly come away with two excellent LBers. I'd look at three players. One is Daiyan Henley from Washington State. I'd start the draft with Anton Harrison (T Oklahoma) and Daiyan Henley in rounds 1 and 2. Here's a highlight reel of Henley:

Then, in round 5, there are two LBers I'd look at. The first of these two is Ivan Pace Jr. from U Cincinnati https://www.nfl.com/prospects/ivan-pace-jr/32005041-4322-7420-e151-cbb8330c9baa

The other is Dorian Williams from Tulane.

Here's his video:

If we can get at least one of these three, if not two of them, it'd mean 1. We can replace LVE and 2. We could also get some nice depth if we get a second. I'd love it if we got both Henley and Pace JR.

Exactly, so that is why I asked, was it Wilson or Quinn on how to use him on the blitzes.
I have not been overly impressed with his actual play at S. But have not been disappointed either.
Do not overpay him I think he can be replaced. But will be glad to keep him at the right deal.

Great. 2 more holes to fill. That makes RB, WR, T, DT, 2 LBs, S, CB. And most of these are starter level needed. And we have 6 draft picks, each near the end of the round.

I don't think he's worth more than a 1 year deal. So, it really just depends on what he wants and what he can get elsewhere.

The problem is, LVE was in charge of getting players lined up. That’s going to tough for a rookie.
