Garrett wanted to re-sign Murray, and he was against drafting Gregory and signing Hardy.

Just to set the record straight.

You can't fix stupid.

Ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested again -- this time, he was busted in Kansas for battery ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The 24-year-old -- who was cut by the Cowboys back in November -- has been booked on 3 counts of aggravated battery, 1 count of drug possession and 1 count of criminal damage.

He's being held on $100,000 bail.

According to officials, Randle was taken into custody around 8 AM Sunday morning.

It's the 3rd time Randle has been arrested since he was cut by Dallas ... and during his last arrest, predicted that his NFL career was over.

to belive a coach and a gm thought this head case would be able to carry the running game was a gross misjudgement. Kinda scares you moving forward on putting a team together that can compete with others in the nfl I have serious doubts.

Not only that, they spent a draft pick (albeit a low one) on Michael, who also didn't last the season. Great job!

Said it after the previous two arrests.

This was the man who was given the keys to the running game by our executive management and coaching staff.

That is far more frightening and more alarming that this incredibly stupid player who will end up in a penitentiary.

Can someone say Lawrence Phillips

Jerry had high praise for him heading into the 2015 season. I wish I could find the quote. It's the same man who said the 1997 team was the best team he's ever had. They went 6-10 after that.

There is absolutely no wonder why we haven't been close to the Super Bowl in 20 years.

That's on you if you take every word "literally" from anyone who has to address the media.

Did Randle have a history of this kind of **** coming out of college or was it brought about by the great environment Jerry thinks he has in place with the Cowboys?

It's hard to think of an NFL starter that has fallen faster and harder than this guy. Just an amazing turn of events for a player that was given the chance of a lifetime just a few months ago.

Who cares about him? Last time I checked, he is no longer a Dallas Cowboy. What he does now is not relevant to the Cowboys in any way, shape, or form. Unless someone wants to use him to further his anti-whoever/whatever agenda. Move on. Nothing to see here other than a person physically talented enough to play in the NFL but mentally his elevator doesn't go to the top and he wasted his opportunity. He wasted his opportunity, which has nothing to do with any of us or the Cowboys in general.

I would like to issue a public apology to all the people I argued with on here about Randle. You guys were right and I was wrong.

I thought he was a nice guy and a decent person in the couple of times I met him, I think he's a talented back, but he is not worth the troubles and needs serious help.

It's probably instructive to flash back to the summer of 2013, when the Cowboys took a "beach day'' off from training camp in Oxnard, allowing the then-rookie his first visit to the Pacific Ocean. Garrett relayed the story shortly thereafter:
“He goes running in and I swear to God he thought it was a swimming pool,'' Garrett said, "because he got about three steps in the water — it could not have been more than 12 inches deep — and he jumps up and goes 'bang!' It’s rocks. It’s sand. It ain’t deep. He kind of played it off and got going again but I am not so sure he knew what he was getting into.

“Typical Randle,'' Garrett said, chuckling. "I say that with affection.”

Actually the organizational failure from him has a lot to do with the Cowboys.

If they do not learn from his case, they will repeat the same mistakes.

Pretty clearly the guy has emotional and mental issues that are escalating. I hope he ends up getting whatever help he needs.

He had the talent to justify his roster spot. That wasn't the issue.

Or maybe he's just an idiot. Those types do still exist, don't they?

Not singling you out and I'm not saying that you are giving him any sort of pass, but the growing theme of providing any and every reason for the behavior of professional athletes other than a lack of responsibility is getting a bit worn out, IMO. I'm in no way saying that I wouldn't like to see anyone with mental illness get help, but I'm less than amused that athletes and celebrities have a default explanation for their poor decisions. It'd be nice if the same level of concern for mental health was shown to other members of population.

He was not so talented to overlook his behavior. That is the key. There were warning signs of childish and unintelligent behavior before even the shoplifting incident. That should have been the final straw. But since we feel we can rehabilitate the stupid, he stayed and was even handed a significant role going into 2015.

The Randle mistake coupled with the path that Gregory appears to be travelling down really needs to open some eyes of our decision makers. If not, we are doomed to keep repeating the same mistakes.

Like we've been doing for about 20 years now?

How is it clear? What exactly is he suffering from besides being an idiot?

I took a lot of flack from people when I said I believed his ex about getting violent and smashing that car window. Some guys just think they can do whatever they want.

Haley? Bloke, that was really a reach back in time. The poster prevails and you take the walk of shame.

Haley? Bloke, that was really a reach back in time. The poster prevails and you take the walk of shame.

First off, I see the wife left her guard down and you made it back on the internet...

As to off cuff, criminal activity, or just plain blatant attitude fit as poorly now, as it did back then. Haley was confrontational to co players from the start. He peed on the car of a coach in the team's parking lot...THAT is when he was offered to Dallas. He got into continual confrontations and fights with team mates in Dallas, UNTIL Chad Hennings grabbed him; lifted him off the ground; and slammed him into a locker. He suddenly saw the light, changed, and was more supportive in and outside of the lockerroom. Yea, really different stuff with a cherry picked time line that is also supposed to make your own arrogance palatable.

Bloke? Ever see a recruiter...much less play football at a collegiate level? Naw, keep on trying to impress the newly arrived preppies to the burn barrel bunch.

Simply stated, standards for conduct applied then, now, and into the future...

Agree with the first part, not sure about the second.

How can you trust a player who's been arrested for shoplifting when they're making good money? That makes no sense to me. There's a lot of things players get arrested for but rarely if ever for shoplifting. There has to be a problem with an NFL player who can easily afford underwear and cologne but would rather risk being arrested for stealing those items. This video is from his arrest in Oct of 2014 for shoplifting he sounds like a complete idiot. I said after it was posted on the board the Cowboys are taking a real chance going forward with him in 2015.
