I am glad to hear Lewis was found not guilty. Gooddell and NFL are going to investigate a year to come up with something.

Just glad Jourdan did not try using the pillows on the police officers whom arrived at the scene.

Actually this is a case where if the NFL tries to do something Lewis has a legitimate gripe to go to federal court. He was found NOT GUILTY which means just that. The NFL trying to penalize him afterwards would make the Brady mess look like a brawl between three year olds.

Now also on ESPN NFL page.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/

Sorry, sheriff, you got owned on this one

Sorry, BETA, but those are the "top headlines". Anything deriving from ESPN, no matter the section, is linked there in a particular order of their choosing (based on projected click-bait value or RECENCY). The Lewis verdict article was not a real "top story", as in "front and center" like the Lucky stories (I linked it 3 minutes after it dropped). By tomorrow morning, there won't be any evidence of the outcome of Lewis' case on the site, but there will be plenty about Lucky.

Weren't you the one on draft night topping the pick calling him a woman beater? Could have sworn it was you carrying on and on about those of us who didn't immediately condemn him were supporters of domestic violence or something along those lines.

Great logic. She's got a serious long view. She must haveknown in 2015 that the case wouldn't go anywhere but would set the stage for a future complaint. Totally projected his future success.

Compare that to a story about a 20 year old who got physical with his girlfriend because he can't control his anger.

Gee, what's the higher probability here?

Guess his conference wasNT one of those 24 hour long ones where you dont have internet access.

Very good point. Brady was already an employee of the NFL. EE and Lewis were not, I agree with you. Gooddell trying to regain credibility after Ray Rice case.

Wrong, NFL can have a lower standing of evidence in an internal disciplinary proceeding than is necessary for a criminal conviction. The NFL is governed by the terms of the collective bargaining contract; the courts by the Constitution and the traditions of English common law. There is no legal reason why the NFL can't go forward with its own process if the contract allows it even if with the NOT GUILTY verdict in court. What would stop the NFL from going forward would be the possible public relations nightmare that would occur from trying to punish someone who the criminal justice system declined to. That PR nightmare may be as powerful or more than the law, but the law--other than the terms set forth in the contract--really doesn't come into play.

would not be so sure; look how far Brady got. And can you imagine the nfl penalizing a player for a pillow fight- which is what Lewis and his lawyers probably would emphasize. And as I said previously Lewis could scream about his civil rights being violated- the CBA cannot protect the NFL from that.

Lol @AbeBeta has a history of caping for women anytime an accusation of DV is brought up. An accusation is a guilty verdict in his mind.

Yeah. Right.

You complained about ESPN not reporting it. They did

The article is authored by ....Michael Rothstein ESPN Staff Writer

Your sad deflection is weak, even by the standards of this board.

And many folks on this board have a history of immediately claiming the woman must be lying.

Real men speak out against domestic violence. Little boys constantly cry "she's lying!"

As I've argued before numerous times. False claims are the vast minority - I spoke in terms of probability - and I'm right far more often doing so.

And I was at a conference that week.

Real men let the facts come out and don't immediately take the word of the woman. That is how the Salem Witch Trials caught fire.

No real men admit they were wrong - which I was in this case.

Real men don't sit back and assume the girl is always lying. Thats the attitude that leads to so few cases being ever prosecuted
