He added too many pounds over the offseason. He was never this slow and timid in his years at ND or even last year. He needs to drop some of that bulk.

I wonder if that extra weight/muscle in the offseason made him slower... Seems like he just runs into the crowd.

JJ seems to not be able to pick the right direction into the hole. A hole opens up and he hits it, but then runs straight into the d-linemans progress. Looks like he is afraid to make a cut back or change of direction. Probably another coaching scheme telling him to take the 3 yards given and not make a bad decision.

Hardly a good game for the O-Line today.. that will get Julius stuffed alot. He still gained 76 on a very poor day for him.

He's started slowly, no doubt but I have faith he'll get it going again. Hell, I'd have given him the ball again when we were 4 yards out with 3 goes to get in the end zone.

I mentioned after the first few preseason games that I thought our run defense was spotty. We gave up chunks of yardage to the first RBs in almost every game we played in the PS.

Now, it appears that teams have realized our weakness and they're running all over us.

What must be done to stop this? or....Will this be a whole season problem?

I really feel we did OK with the pass defense......Yes, we gave up a big one to Moss....but I expected that. I think our pass defense will come around before our run defense will.

We're not creating holes and our running backs are getting eaten behind the LOS. I thought Rivera would make a difference, but I just don't see it.

Changing the centers every half is not helping either IMO.

Moving the TE to the FB position at the last second is becoming laughable too. Using a DL near the goal line is another deperate measure and it just gives the play away to the defense. I think Polite needs to stay in the entire game and our TE's, need to stay where they are and block the outside.

2-2 now...but it could be 2-4 real quick if we don't get our running game going.

Turn in your Cowboy jerseys please.

EXACTLY!! Really, some of you people need to just jump from the band wagon now...PLEASE!! I'm sure this week is going to be nothing but negative post on here.

We're 2-2......the offense has looked great, except for Wash. (good D) and today. This was a game that many of us had Dallas losing by 20+ points. The D held in there, and we had a chance to take this game at the end.

Yeah, JJ didn't have a good game, but even some guy that wore 22 had games like this. This isn't the time to start asking for a new RB or to draft so and so. Crap happens, along with games like this. He'll be just fine. Please settle down.

I am more wondering about all the inside pounding against Oakland. That team has a very large front 7. How many JJ for 2 over the guard got call today ? I bet at least 12. Even TT's runs were mostly inside the tackels.

when tyson was in there we moved the ball...right now JJ's head is all messed up from BP's antics...he doesnt want to mess up...he is a very conservative runner...i know there weren't alot of holes out there but old tyson was able to run through them...the JJ of last year would have too...he bulked up a bit but still it's bp...he has his head all messed up...he took our home run hitter and made him a singles hitter...nobody fears a singles hitter...and with a bunch of other single's hitters and former homerun hitters that are close to being over the hill we aint knocking in any runs...THANKS BP

ah..you might want to go look at what LT and Portis got against us first.

Today, yeah Jordon had a good game but thats due to moss.

the last two performance have been disappointing after a strong start. This team was beat on both lines today. Give the Raiders credit. Although until this O-line performs better in the running game, we will have trouble beating anyone.

I still don't understand why Bill put Marion in on that 3rd down play after Tyson was moving the chains. Marion then gets chewed out by Bill on the sidelines for bouncing it oustide.

is it our game plan (coaching) or is JJ hurt? I don;t think its JJ's fault. But the running game is the problem or should i say the lack of a running game. Bye the way Tyson looked a lot better then JJ today. The raiders took us to town, shut the running game down, jam the (old) recieviers and made Drew try to win it. Sounds like a recipe for how you played the Buffalo Bills last year. (we need a running game, drew can get the job done.) but it looks ugly for next week

LIke I have said- give BP credit for managing to change a dangerous running back into one no one is scared of. GREAT JOB, BP!!! All that BS about negative plays has made JJ into a guy who can't get BIG PLAYS!!!

I did look at that.....but I think those games were the exception. After the first two or three games, teams begin to see the weaknesses that teams have.

The Niners obviously saw something.......they ran on us easily at times. The Raiders, who have had a heckuva time mounting ANY running game this year, tore us a new one.

This is a MAJOR problem........How can we find a way to stop this? If you can 't stop the run, you cannot win in the NFL.

You know the mantra: If you can't run....or stop the run....you can't win in the NFL.
