i'm baffled at how poor our running game has been.

I didn't understand it either. Very, very frustrating. We have two quick runners who do well running outside but didn't even seem to try an outside run once. The only one I can think of was an inside run that Barber tried taking outside, costing us the first down.

I've been a little suspect this year about the coaching. The calls never seem to exploit the other team's weaknesses.

And anyone else besides me getting tired of actually seeing a linebacker saunter up to the line of scrimmage to blitz. How about a little disguise here and there?

The D played OK. Besides the one big play to Moss, they were able to contain him. The offense, to me, was just bad. The offensive line more so than anything. JJ keeps chugging away at the tough yards, but he just doesn't seem to have that same step he had last year. Don't know why.

I just think the coaching staff is really bad at exploiting the other team's weaknesses.

How about a little play action at the goal line?

Watch out people. I got bashed for saying Jones doesn't look the same in week one, two, and three. Now others are starting to notice. He simply looks average. No great moves, no burst. Just average run for two or three yards and then down.

Look, I know we want him to be the next great back, but at some point, we really have to be honest with ourselves. Maybe he isn't more than an average back.

This is on BP as much as it is on anyone. The O line sucks run blocking; the play calling is stupid; the backs are not playing well; but the buck stops with the guy in charge and that is BP.

We should have won this game. We should be 4-0. If our coaches would call plays intended to help you win games instead of calls intended to keep you from losing games we would be 4-0 and flying high.

Too bad our coaches are in the middle of a stupid streak. We better fix it or the Eagles are going to hand us our you know what.

Wow. What I saw last year wasn't an average back. So how do you come to that conclusion this year?

What I am seeing is bad coaching. And the offensive line was just horrendous today.

I have been saying that JJ does not look like he did last year. FROM GAME ONE.
Extra weight is probably a small part of it- the rest is VERY STUPID PLAY SELECTION, BP and his negative YARD BS has made JJ not willing to take chances. AND THAT IS VERY BAD.

cmon guys, Jones didnt have any holes. he took a F' Beating today. look at what happened when Barber came in, that might have cost us a TD, Barber had the 1st down if he just fell forward, but lost it cause he bounced outside to try and get more.

Jones worked his but off today !!! this is the first game i question Offensive play calling...Raiders secondary has been bad, but we keep running Jones right into the raiders DT's, the best part of tehir defense. we didnt take advantage of mismatches very well.

I think I know why... We had to take the air out of the ball and "keep their offense off the field"... "Give our defense a rest"... etc...

As I was saying on another board, BP always seems to react to the other team like this. Why we can't be aggressive and try to score as many as we can without always reacting to what they are good at is driving me nuts. Why can't we try to dictate the game like Jimmy used to try to do?

he didnt make a prediction he et a goal. there is a difference.

I didn't think he looked that much better at all. It was good to see him run decently when it counted, but he looked about the same to me as JJ.

There is no gloom and doom here. I started a thread about jones after the first game of the season. I think alot of posters are starting to notice. It's not just about bad blocking. Something about Jones is different. The Eagles won't be scared.

I think that extra weight has made more of a difference then anyone thought it would. It has cost him quickness and flexibility. BUT I think the biggest factor is BP's BS about negative plays- JJ is so worried about fumble and not getting chewed out by BP that he ahs become timid. His agressiveness is gone. THANKS BP.

tyson thompson looked great running the ball, but he does not know how to block yet.

marion barber couldn't even get a 1/2 yard.

Yep, time to activate the A-Train so instead of getting 2 yards every carry like today we would have gotten 1.
