***Julius Jones...and the running game thread***

So he can go somewhere where they will let him run his way- the way that made him so dangerous last year. BP and his negative play BS!!!!
Great job BP- you IDIOT!!!

Untill we get better LB play, besides Dat,we will struggle

Did someone say he had a groin issue earlier this week? I know Burnett did but I thought I read JJ had as well.

The Raiders are huge in the middle. They have slow linebackers and old, slow and huge lineman. Why did we run it up the middle over and over and over and over and over and over and over?

And over?

Why not attack the perimeter of their defense? Why not run to the outside? I thought the whole point of coaching was to attack an opponents weakness?

We didn't throw deep against a weak secondary.

We ran up the middle against a defense good at stuffing runs up the middle.

We ran when we should have passed and passed when we should have ran.

What's the freakin' deal?

Parcells, Payton...bull your heads outa your butts and come up with a gameplan that will win a game by more than 3 points.

I'm not sure if JJ is not as good as everyone hyped him up to be or the Cowboys philosophy sucks but I have a feeling it's a little of both.

I agree, although I still think Dats too small for the 3-4,but he is a gutsy player. He didn't do too well today though :(

You're kidding right? I mean every game Emmitt had was for over 100 yards. Look when your line gets dominated like that playcalling won't work it's that easy.

Are you talking about Teflon Jones. Never does anything wrong. Always a reason for his constant ineffectiveness?

Maybe, just maybe, he isn't all that great after all. That's the way I have seen it this year so far. It's four games of average RB play out of Jones. At what point does he become an average RB?

The line did not play that well last year but he was making big runs and big plays.
This year he is so worried about holding onto the ball, not making negative plays, and following orders that he is not a threat.

You basically took the words outta my mouth.

I dont think we've run to the outside once this entire season.

Those were JJs biggest gains last year. Around the edge.

I am too POed to even type anymore.

Oh, lets run up the middle on the largest defensive line in football... over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

he just doesn't seem right this year, however it dont help when you dont have running lanes. We need to start drafting some stud lineman

If our run blocking had been better, JJ might have had a chance.

The OL needs to gel and start pushing defenses off the line.

Rivera, Gurode and Allen need to get better....period.

why didn't they go back to thompson?

i'm not saying he's better than jj, but he had a solid drive.

Why doesn't someone take a look at the tapes of last years game and see what we did right then and DO IT NOW!!!!!!

I think it's a little hasty to start worrying about JJ right now. The offensive line has been putrid so far.

the OL was horrible in run blocking and pass blocking today and whati is the point on changing centers we should just start Gurode and play him most of the game since he is a bit better

So predictable and fruitless is our running game.....

That play at the goaline as we were marching in to win was the kill shot...

How about the fact that we kept running him up the middle against one of, if not the biggest, defensive lines in the league?

Is it just me or does it seem like every week we have a repeat of 2 yards... 3 yards.... -1 yard.... 3 yards.... "Hey folks, Gurode has come into the game as the center"... 5 yards.... 6 yards.... 3 yards... 5 yards :laugh1:
