I think JJ is either "tight" or has too much muscle mass on his body. He does not have that explosive first step he had last year. If Thompson can run on this D, then the Jones of last year can.
I still think JJ is the real deal, but he I fear he has bulked up too much...much like UT players here in Austin under "Mad Dog"...they lose speed.

We are getting shredded at the point of attack. Oakland, like just about everyone else who we have faced, is daring Dallas to run middle or right. They're taking space away from the left side by run blitzing the left.
Notice today, Ted Washington and Warren Sapp repeatedly lined up in a three. And we still couldn't get to the mike backer.
We seem to be able to protect for the most part, save for a couple of breakdowns in the third quarter, but we get little push in the running game.

Ask any OLineman and invariably they will prefer to run block over pass block. We have three Pro Bowl linemen out there, run blocking, where they in theory at least, have the advantage. Their inability to perform has JJ averaging under three ypc. That's a disgrace. BP, the king of grind the run, should be ashamed. Now it appears,because the OL coach, Payton and BP have failed to do their jobs, that we are going to have to pass to set up the run. That is the sign of a very weak team. In the old days, teams knew we were going to run but they could do nothing about it.

All i know is if we dont get the running game going against the Eagles we are going to get torn apart.
Parcells should do what Mack Brown did with Vince Young and that is Parcells should show video to Jones of what he did last year and get him to do that but in return Parcells needs to let him run freely and if he has a negative play its not the end of the world

I've noticed with many teams that the run blocking seems awful, and then the qb has all day to throw, do you guys wtach all the games or just cowboys games ???
Didnt BP say that a lot of teams are doing run blitzing now. how many backs are getting 100 yard games, not many. its happening around the league, not just with our team

Moss had those 2 big plays on us, then we made adjustments and did better, probably why they were able to run the ball, cause we were sitting abck in coverage more.
did anyone think the raiders would only score 19 point on us ???

I just think the coaching on both sides of the ball is lacking the ability to exploit the weaknesses of other teams. It's not the execution I'm concerned about. The point is, if you're executing plays against their strength as opposed to their weaknesses, then that is bad coaching.

Offense has been good in past games, this game they struggled. You have to realize, oakland has been in every game they lost. this time they got it together, their defense tightened up and they look like they corrected some problem areas.
Still, THIS game i was suprised with some of the play calling, the other games i have loved the offensive play calling, today, it seemed like something was missing. but watching on tv, you dont get to see eveything, maybe they were taking away the middle to deep pass and forcing us to change up.
Also, Key was being held all the time, that was rediculous....raiders sghould have got called for a lot of holding they got away with.
