KC Joyner on Brandon Lloyd

I won't knock Brandon Lloyd because out of all the FAs the Skins signed I think he has the best chance to make an impact. I do think Lloyd will be a great addition for the Skins.

The only thing that makes me go hmm...about Lloyd is the fact that WR typically hit their stride around year three. So that means Lloyd is entering his most prime and the lowly 49ers let him go for a 3rd round pick.

I know that does not necessarily mean anything as I am very high on Lloyds ability, but that is the only major kink I see from the outside looking in.

Oh, and as long as we're on the topic of embarassing gifs:

Funny I could show you more than one of those highlights with Sherry Glenn and Taylor.

HAHA!

Ask Terry why he can't catch the ball when he hears Taylor's footsteps.

I still don't see the fascination with that Glenn play.

Yes, he turned away from him after the ball went flying a couple of yards out of his reach. What's the big deal?

All ducking aside - Lloyd and El were sub-standard receivers before they joined the Commanders, and they're sub-standard receivers now. Obviously Joyner doesn't take all considerations into account, but he can give a pretty good picture. These guys are just not that good. Lloyd catches alot of hype for his circus catches - and if that's what the Skins want every 6 games, that's cool.

The ball was overthrown. There is no big deal.

I also trust Gibbs' eye for talent

I think Lloyd has talent. Its his head that is a question mark.

SF didn't give their #1 WR away for a song because he was untalented.

Sub-standard?

The jury is still out on both of them, for sure, but to call them sub-standard is just blind hatred because they are on the Skins.

Lloyd wanted to leave the 9ers. Its not like he was begging Nolan to stay...he wanted out. The Steelers wanted to keep ARE as well, and Chicago really wanted him as well. He chose the Skins over 1) the SB champs and 2) his hometown. That says something...

Its all good....I'm sure you can make an embarassing gif for every NFL player in the league. However, Lloyd wasn't that scared of the ball in week 3 last year...4 receptions, 142 yards and 2TDs. Who was he playing that week? I can't remember...;)

He's been playing in an anemic offense the past 3 years, and put up decent numbers considering. And he may not be a #1 receiver in the NFL...and that's perfectly fine. We've already got our #1. Lloyd is basically just on the field to draw attention away from Moss....and let's be honest...he will do that just fine.
Excuses, excuses...

Draw Attention from Moss??? Hardly... Moss and Portis are still the ones everyone will be worried about, AR and Lloyd are second class citizens.

It isn't like you brought a TO in to take pressure off of Moss...:laugh2:

He could have easily stretched out for that ball. He was scurred...plain and simple. He was also probably giving up on the game -- it was a lost cause at that point.

In fact, the only player who appeared to be fired up at all during that game was the former Poke, MeShawn.

I guess I hold my receivers to a little higher standards than you, then. Last year, El and Lloyd were two of the worst starting WRs in the game.

It says that Danny gave them more money.

It's been well established on here, and acknowledged by your fellow Skins fans, that the ball wasa overthrown, Glenn could not get it. I really don't care to get into it with you.

Quick question: who were teams focusing on last year, and how many yards did Moss and Portis end up with?

They both had record-breaking seasons, with Cooley the only other option on the offense. Patten will be healthy, Lloyd will draw attention no matter what you think, and ARE is the x-factor. On TOP of all that, Saunders (you know, the best offensive coordinator in the game) is calling the plays now. Something tells me the Skins offense is going to be just fine. ;)

Hey, that's cool...I think he could have at least tried to get that ball. I wonder why he didn't??? ;)

No way he could have stretched out for that. I have no idea what you are watching.

I do agree with you about Keyshawn though. He was my favorite Cowboy for that reason. That said, I would trade his talent for that of TO any day of the week.

Record Breaking Years? Oh you mean for Commanders...

Big Deal...

Lloyd will get one on one coverage all year...

I hate to say it but Lloyd has no heart. I was sitting in the endzone seats last year when the '9ers played the Giants. The '9ers were in the red zone heading towards me. Lloyd ran a quick slant and all he had to do was streach out and reach for the ball and he had a touchdown. He alligator-armed it for an incompletion. I was never so disgusted in my life over a play. He makes the circus catches, but he doesn't want any part of the tough catches. All glory and no guts. In a tight game or if the Skins are trying to come back in the 4th qtr., he should be on the sideline. That is just my opinion.
