I've lost track of the pundits that described the Chargers OC position as the most coveted non-HC job this offseason. Herbert is potentially a generational talent. Unlock that volcano of ability and with Kellen's top-drawer resume for work in Dallas...he's a lock head coach and likely gets several HC options in the future.
Might come back to the Cowboys when Dak's Contract is up

Yea, available less than a day speaks volumes. It says the problem isn’t Moore.

Give Moore an Elite talent and the sky is the limit. The fact he took an average QB to a top offense has got the leagues attention.
:hammer: .....all this move did was solidify Jerry Jones reputation as a crappy owner/GM that will backstab the next coach to save his ***.

Hehe.

Jerry likes to hire Head Coaches with no other options...no leverage
-Barry Switzer wasn't beating in any doors to coach in the NFL, LOL
-Chan Gailey who?
-Little Man Campo a head coach?
-Phillips? Garrett? Along with the previous three...No prior head coach experience and none after
-McCarthy was out of the game when Jerry called

If Moore scores big time in L.A....he'll be a big time candidate with leverage and choices.

Wade was HC in DEN for two years and BUF for 3 years.

Kingsbury was never called the "next McVay" by anyone. His poor record was repeatedly used against him and he was hired for one reason, Kyler Murray who he had a relationship with since he recruited him. In fact, Kingsbury was so green they had to hire all of his coaches because he didn't know any in the NFL.

However, you are correct, GM's do screw up all the time and some get fired for it. Not the Cowboys GM, he rewards himself.
Kingsbury, Staley, Lafleur, Shanahan….call them what we you want but they got chances as head coaches because of McVey.

The fact Moore didnt even time to have Breakfast and he was already hired tells you all you need to know. If Only Moore could coach up to the level of Daks abilities.....smh

found this nugget on a chargers forum:

"Where did the cowboys run game rank?

if we just have a semblance of a run game compared to what we had, it’ll make herbert’s job waaay easier…"

Good luck with that! and isn't it interesting that chargers fans feel their elite level qb needs help from the antiquated run game?

Done with Dak. Going to follow the chargers now. Couldn't care less about the Jones Cowboys anymore. They slapped me around for too many years. Bugger off Jones boys.

The joke is on you my friend.

Dallas was 8th out of 32 teams in rushing in 2022. 9th in 2021. Very good.

Overall Moore's offenses have been elite:
#1 in NFL in 2021...near #1 in 2022 after Dak's return. #1 in 2019 by huge margin.

For comparison...Chargers were 30th in rushing this season.

I guess it's superbowl for the Chargers next year then huh?

Vastly improved Charger offense. That's all Kellen can do.

Worried for Dallas next year...could see big drop off.

Jerry fired him after having the #1 offense in football 4 straight years in games in which he had his starting QB. That’s only happened once before in league history.

That’s a short leash if anything
The problem is those stats drop significantly when it comes playoff time.

The Cowboys vaunted offense averaged 14.5 points per game against the 49ers over the last two seasons.

That is why Kellen Moore was fired, the Cowboys determined Moore had hit his ceiling here and could not take the team any further so they fired him.

Now you can disagree with that decision, but that was the decision made nonetheless.

Versus Niners #1 defense in this year's playoffs:
Eagles, 1/29/23...269 yards
Cowboys, 1/22/23...282 yards

Yes, while neither did much, Dallas moved the ball more versus that defense.

Turnovers, QB injuries, refs swung the games. Dak had a few deer-in-headlight moments.

Blaming Moore is silly; letting him go absurd. But I'm stoked about it as the Chargers are my AFC team and thrilled to see him aboard.

Yardage doesnt matter, points do and Eagles dropped 31 on the same defense we scored 12 on.

That is why Moore got fired.............now you may think that is absurd, but the front office doesnt seem to agree with you.
