Their 6-3 record is more the product of a great defense and good running game than Vince Young's ability as a quarterback. 4 touchdowns and 10 interceptions is just not cutting it in NFL

Guess the real question is if you replaced Romo with Vince, what the results would be. That is something that has alot of variables, and hard to predict.
Young cannot make all the throws, especially on the run, something Romo excels in. TO would not have 1,000 yards and would not have anything close to 12 TDs. As a QB, Young is horrible, but he is a great athlete.

Thats exactly right.

VY is TERRIBLE outside the pocket and that is exactly where Romo exceeds.

Comparing the two is ridiculous.

Spinach tastes just like chocolate pudding, with the exception of one is green and disgusting and the other is a bowl full of chocolaty goodness

they need to install some roll-outs for Vince, the Broncos are trying to keep him in the pocket, just have him roll-out and they'll commit and he can throw behind them

maybe he's stupid that they don't do this, idk

I hope Key is watching this game.

Everytime VY leaves the pocket he is looking to run.

Romo will stay back, buy time and direct traffic pointing down field ending the play with a pass completion... not a head 1st dive into a LBer.

Well, I'm definitely not saying that I would replace the two. The point is, with Vince's youth and pedigree, it is hard to predict what he will become.

A QB isn't horrible just cause he is a running QB.

Yeah, I know what you are saying, but most people don't have the athletic ability of Young. I'm not a huge fan of QB ratings when it comes to winning, stats never tell the whole story.
QB rating has a higher correlation with winning and losing than any other statistic.

5-5, maybe 6-4 at best.

Young is a horrible QB because he can't make all the throws and he looks to run rather being a passer, a small trait that is an essential to be a good QB. There were/are good running QBs because they can pass, VY just isn't one of them, for now.

I watched part of a couple Titan games this year VY will not last long if he continues to run as much as he does he has taken a few shots that I have seen that is eventually going to catch up with him. He needs to learn when to run and how to run while looking to pass.

I would rather have Romo, but QB rating is a stat that just has never been friendly to running QBs and doesn't show the true impact they have on the game.

Well at least you said, "for now". Keep in mind he is very young, and to condemn him at this point is a bit shortsided.

Vince Young is overhyped because members of the media want desperately for him to succeed. He is no different than Jake Plummer.

And running QBs have never been very successful. Strange how that works, huh?

We will have to agree to disagree on this issue really. Your line of thinking goes down a path I totally disagree with.

Mike Vick... for like a couple of years.

I can see both sides of the argument, but the end all is this... regardless of what type of QB he is, his passing has to improve for him to have a successful career. Being that's he a "Running QB" he doesn't have to throw it like Peyton Manning to be successful, but he has to throw better then he does now.

well that is becasue of the way that you probably classify a running quarterback.

steve young, randall cunningham, fran tarkenton, and donovan mcnabb are all guys that could run like mad and certainly at times ran with little to no intention of passing but you probably classify them as passing QBs.

heck Vick took his team to the NFC championship. Young does have a winning record.
