Keyshawn: Romo most overhyped player in the league

I'm glad you're not worried about your credibility.

That's refreshing...

And not to mention probably pretty handy in this instance.

Uh huh, you gonna try to use any of those handy things like facts or stats or anything to back up your opinion? Because I'm pretty sure that you haven't addressed anything yet.

What was it exactly that he couldn't maintain, considering he was top 5 in the league in those 6 or 7 categories that Adam mentioned?

We're talking about a first-year starter who, objectively speaking, put up some of the best all-around regular season numbers in the history of the franchise.

Remember that, for the time Romo was starting, the Cowboys defense was dead last in the NFL in 3rd down conversions allowed.

Ummmm, did you freaking read the post? He started off well and then fell off at the end (kept his passer rating up relatively because he went against Detriot and ATL).

OK smart guy... give us the game by game ratings for the top 10 QB's in the NFL last season and lets see if any of them have games where their QB ratings dip into the 40's and 50's.

I'm kinda betting they do...

Gee a QB fatting up their QB rating on weaker teams but against stronger teams they don't play as well.

Man, where were you when Newton was trying to sort out this gravity thing?

If that's really what Key said, he's already fitting in with the ESPN crew.

Exactly, he is really focusing on getting ESPN tenure!! Got to get into the inner circle!!

I thought it was too. Romo is inconsistent and so is Grossman. Do you disagree?

Michael freaking Vick had a better passer rating than Rex Grossman.....

I'll go with guys we all know are great QBs and aren't coming off injuries.

Peyton Manning - 2 games in the 60s. 2 games in the 70s, 1 in the 80s.
Drew Brees - 1 game at 59.9, 2 games in the 60s, 1 in the 70s, 2 in the 80s.
Tom Brady - 1 in the 30s (Indy), 1 in the 50s (MIA), 3 in the 70s, 4 in the 80s.
Carson Palmer - 1 in the 50s, 2 in the 60s, 1 in the 70s, 2 in the 80s.

So, yes, the best QBs, every so often, go into the 50s and even lower. But not 3 out of 5 games. The rest all had less (over a whole season) games below 60. He's inconsistent, like I said.

Yes, all QBs perform better against worse teams. But for the love of all things holy, performing twice as bad against decent competition? That's taking the comparison a little too far.

Rewatch those games... I think you'll see the Cowboy defense being lit-up at every turn.

I've got news for you, you take away an offenses ability to run the ball because they are consistently behind and I'm betting the QB's ratings are going to take a beating.

I know... pretty profound but you egged it out of me there firestick.

And none of those QB's were having their defenses play like the French army in WWII.

 That's propostorous! Whoever thought of something like the defense having an effect on the offense!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I still can't get over the Grossman and Romo comparison.

Grossman posts a QB rating of freaking 1.3 in a game where their defense allowed 13 points.

And he thinks Romo and Grossman are comparable?

can't believe Key would say somthing like this after seeing Romo completely dismantle his team

Hey would I or any Cowboy fan like to have seen Romo play better against the Saints, Eagles and G-men? You bet!

But to infer he's a car-wreck and we should have drafted that putz Quinn is shear nonsense. There isn't a QB on the planet that would have turned the crap this Cowboy defense was spewing at the end of last season into gold. The defense was a sieve and the offense became 1-dimensional almost from the opening snap... especially against the Saints and the Eagles.

When you say it, it sounds like his rating was skewed only by the bad teams he faced, and not the good ones.

Hey, pretend that Romo actually is a Commander, and then get back to us with your "objectivity".

3 out of 10 games don't you mean?
