Coaches have come and gone, Offensive and Defensive coordinators have come and gone, position coaches have come and gone, players have come and gone, venues have changed, .. but we never change, .. we stay the same.

Thanks Jerry.

It doesn't matter who the coaches and players are. There's been a single entity over the past 17 years.

This defense is dead last in the league (32nd) in yards allowed. Yesterday, the defense allowed the most yards in Cowboys history. Through half a season, the Cowboys have already tied the record with (4) 400+ yard passers. This is inexcusable. I know we have injuries on the D line, but we had injuries last year far worse yet Ryan was fired.

This is one of the worst defense I've seen in my life. Even the gameplans are horrid. We single cover Mega freakin Tron all game long when he was essentially the Lions only receiving threat. Look what the Lions did. They doubled Dez and Witten all game long. Fire Kiffin right now.

I see you watch First Take. I was wondering if someone was going to start a thread on this after Skip Bayless was preaching this very thing. Following Skip's advise is usually the last thing you want to do, but egads, he just might be right for once. Megatron said he was single covered most of the game - that is inexcusable, both on Kiffen's part as well as on Garrett's part. Garrett as HC should have nixed Kiffen's gameplan as soon as he saw it. With all the hoopla surrounding Dez and Megatron leading up to the game and with the Lions basically having scrubs as the other receiving options - you single cover their only serious threat ( I guess Bush is pretty decent receiver as well out of the backfield but not at Johnson's level ).

If Marinelli wouldn't walk out if we fired Kiffen and would become DC I'd agree with firing Kiffen now. But I bet he'd walk away as well if we did that and we'd be even worse off. Afraid we'll probably have to live with it for this season. Hopefully the whole coaching staff can be cleaned out next year.

At the rate guys want to fire Defense Coordinator, Coach, Offensive Coach, Rookie WR, Quarterback, Defense Lineman, Linebacker, we wouldn't even have a Cowboys team.

Guys, defenses are built from the front back. So are offenses. We've only invested two top picks on the offensive line for the first time in like forever. The last first round pick we invested on the front line is Marcus Spears (who is no longer with the team). Is it any wonder, Kiffin's scheme doesn't work? No scheme is going to produce if there's a lack of talent.

Imagine if Marinelli was never brought in and Kiffin was the main guy. Would the defensive line have been as good as they are? Would this defense be even worse?

Rob is the only thing holding this D together. Another injury or two and the defense is done for good.

Did you know putting players in poor position makes them susceptible to poor tackling and getting burned on passes. Or can we just credit all the good plays to him and the bad plays to the players.......sort of like Garrett. Also isn't he and staff supposed to be teaching techniques on tackling or covering, or is this just something you pickup on your own? Geez, some people don't want any accountability on coaching.

Well the D is only part of the problem. If you all want to get rid of Kiffen you should all be asking for the head of our head coach Garrett. He has done far worst than Kiffen during his tenure here in Dallas with more talent as his disposal. What has Kiffen have to work with? A depleted Dline? How about Safeties that can't cover? Face it, without our passrush - which was supposed to be Ware, Ratliff and Spencer, this defense is flawed. But Kiffen isn't the main problem, its the head coach and Jerry Jones. Its time that they also step down as well.

Agreed. Yes, Kiffin's defense has not been "ideal" but the guy is trying to do the best he can with injuries to the DLine and secondary. And yet they are still competing, playing hard and leading the NFL in turnovers. If not for the defense getting those turnovers, we might be 1-7 right now. Consider all that and we haven't been blown out once playing against 5 of the Top-10 offenses in the NFL so far statistically.

And before people come in saying "It's all the offense keeping us in games!" Nope. I'll give you the Denver game but other than that...

I don't understand how this defense continues to get worse and worse every year. This defense is devoid of talent minus Sean Lee and Brandon Carr.

Yeah its not looking impressive but this is what you get when you fire guys who were doing their job and keep guys who weren't. As I said earlier, defense can only be on the field so long. An offense that produces nothing until late in games will cause issues. Happened last year and the D got blamed and it happened yesterday when the O spit out a big 95 yards in the first half. Yet it's always on the D.

Exactly.. You can't expect turnovers as well, if the offense can't score, which is what Wade and Ryan were faced with. This is the same story for every coach, but they get blasted. During Wade's tenure, this offense was downright awful in second and third quarters in particular with constant one and two series drives handing over TOP to the other teams.

Dallas defense has been caught far too often trying to hold the fort for 3 quarters, while the offense finds some way to put points on the board. Then the late game happens and the defense is tired, then they are blamed for not holding. It's the same pattern over and over again.

Dang at this rate we're going to be out of Coaches/Personnel/Players

So far over this year I've heard get rid of Romo, Claiborne, Williams, Witten, Ware, Murray, Kiffen, Garret, etc; Good thing Jerry Jones doesn't listen to you guys, because we'd have NOBODY playing for us, they'd all be fired!

I blame the offense more than the defense in the Detroit game. Don't care how much yards they gave up. They continuously gave our offense turnovers when it counted and our offense failed to capitalize on those turnovers. If our offense took those turnovers and scored, we would have won that game easily. However, the offense just kept laying egg and egg after egg.

No one even credits the defense for stopping Detroit 2nd after the last possession where Heath intercepted the ball. I think the INT should have stood and he could have ran with it to chew more time off the clock. But the refs blew that call and made it an incomplete pass.

My point is the guy can't be blamed for the players' poor tackling and covering skills...do you watch the games at all?
I love this argument and I own it every time. If KIffen isn't to blame, then why isn't Ryan here? Why isn't Zimmer still here? It's not on the coaches if the players fail. With your argument, a coach should NEVER be fired because the players have to perform.

While I agree that is often a pattern with this team, you can't remotely say that about a game where the defense got rolled for 620 yards. It wasn't because they got tired at the end, they got abused the whole game because the genius coach decided to single cover the best WR in football.
