No. Here’s why and you should know this when you did your homework which you obviously did.

Romo improved to the point where he played at an MVP level in 2016 and was robbed of a Divisional playoff win. Cousins has never put himself in that position.

In addition Romo led the league in 4th quarter QBR and comebacks when he retired and elevated his game to the point where his pre snap reads combined with his accuracy and performance under pressure puts him ahead of Cousins, who while very good has never elevated his game to that level.

In other words Romo improved as he matured, Cousins has remained relatively static in his career.

That puts that to bed.
MVP level? I"m assuming you mean 2014 and not 2016...how was he at a MVP level in 2014 when he lost in the first round like Cousins always does? If 2014 was MVP level then Kirk has had a few MVP level seasons using that as the benchmark.

Desperate times for the Dak-stans, desperate indeed!
I'll give you this, Kirk is better than Romo........are you happy now?
What is the goal of this silly post of yours about a retired NFL QB?
Keep sweating as come next season your Dak nightmares will become unbearable for you......o_O
Stop trying to deflect. This is about Kirk and Romo not Dak.

Its still a different era. QB protection, tackling changes, and rule changes. And again since they both were in the league during that time, why can't you compare Romo then to Cousins then?
Kirk just like Romo didn't start until later on in the league. By the time Kirk started in 2015 Romo was essentially out of the league. Romo lost his job to Dak in 2016. Romo's last full year was 2014.

Why not…..it’s the whole reason you made the thread

yo do realize this won’t turn out the way you hope it does when you did all your research to compile this fluff…..oh well, whatever helps you get over Raynes failures, lol
I wanted to see how quick the "Dak haters" would turn into the "Romo apologists"......and it showed much faster than I thought it would lol. I have still yet have anyone tell me legit how Cousins career is different than Romo's.

Hmmmmm ......IDK, no team was will to trade one pick, even a 7th rounder, for Romo before he retired.
Sure. I don't doubt that back in 2016 if you offered GMs a broken down Tony Romo or a Kirk Cousins 8 years his junior and just entering his prime some of them (maybe all of them) would have taken Cousins.

But what I doubt is that, having seen their careers play out, GMs would take Cousins over Romo if they had to take one guy to start all over again.

The Cowboys last All-Pro QB (which Cousins has never been) has been retired since 2017. Who cares about the retired announcer and a QB that plays for some other team? Smh...

What are the Cowboys going to do in 2023? How will the current QB perform? How will the front office set him up for success?

I don't think this thread is for you...neither is the Michael Irvin thread or the Demarcus Ware thread.....you might want to go into threads of only current Cowboys.

I don't know if any GM would take either if they saw both careers play out.

Romo, Cousins and Dak are all in that second tier of QBs. Give them help and you can win a SB with them.
I'm sure the Commodes wish they still had Cousins instead of all the crappy QBs they went through since Cousins left.
If they had Cousins, with that defense, they would be an instant contender.

Cowboys fans like to romanticize Romo
The fact is that he was a good not great QB just like Cousins

What did Romo do that Cousins has not and his career isn’t over
I'm wondering the same thing. We dog out Kirk Cousins on this site but hype up Romo when their careers are parallel. Kirk had Diggs and Justin Jefferson. Romo had Dez and TO. Romo had Murray and Cousins had Dalvin Cook.

Another thing that separates them is Romo had more National games than any QB during his career including Brady. Cousins is notorious for not playing well in those games while playing in far less National telecasts. He’s the king of 1:00 on Sunday. Think back to the Sunday night gane where Romo went 80 yards in a minute and beat the Giants. Cousins still struggles in those situations.

In other words Romo improved as he matured, Cousins has remained relatively static in his career and still struggles in big games.

That puts this discussion to bed.

Cousins is closer to another guy i know vs Romo. Love everything you said.

How so? You Dak haters said Kirk Cousins was better than Dak. This has nothing to do with Dak. I just want y'all to keep the same energy. No one has accurately yet said what's the difference between Kirk and Romo. Nobody can because they have had essentially the samee career and at this point Kirk is on pace to have a better career.
Dak doofusses are so funny
