LOL (actually, we get paid monthly)

And though it is more than $1200 a month, it still is not a enough. My thanks to you and all teachers. You are true heroes in my book, and always have been.

Garrett said Kitna, who was teaching/coaching, reached out to the Cowboys about the job. Said he was gung-ho

Yea I bet he was gung-ho about receiving another NFL paycheck to watch some football from the sidelines.

I'm sure you're just kidding. But for those that don't know Kitna,s background realize that money is not the factor here.

Kitna could have received nice backup money for two years now and decided he wanted to work with tje kids.
This is during the holidays and even if we win one, the impact on his life and influence would be positive.

It is not remotely about the money. This guy as made a (small) fortune in his career and is not a big spender....unless may e for charity. He teaches for one reason, obviously, to make a difference.

Thanks, Hos. I make a bit more than that, but I'm higher up the salary scale. He's probably not taking home much more than that.

He doesn't need it. A friend of mine who is, and married to a brilliant surgeon, does not. Most teachers, on the other hand, do.

Everyone keeps talking like the Eagles are this solid team, but the last I saw, Philly has dropped 7 games just like Dallas. The Eagles are beatable even with McCoy...

I think the concern is that the Philly offense seems to be hitting on all cylinders and can be very explosive. When you combine that with our brutal defense, it gives reason for concern. And then, to make matters worse, being without Romo makes it nearly impossible to match points with Philly or climb out of a deep hole.

I give Dallas a puncher's chance. But the coaching staff has to put together an incredible game plan that concentrates on winning time of possession. And they need to stick with the plan. If Dallas falls behind 14-3, we cant have Garrett deciding that Orton needs to chuck it 50 times. Any coaching blunder in this game will be magnified as there is absolutely no room for error.

Yeah, I was a physical therapist for 18 years. Now I work as a teacher/athletic trainer. Never worked so hard in my life.

What difference does it make? If Orton get's hurt, it's over anyway. Does anyone really think David Carr would lead us to victory? I'd rather go down with Kitna.

This. At least Kitna knows the offense. Which is a lot more important than some people seem to realize.

And if he's in shape, there's probably a good chance that he's better than Carr anyway. As sad as that is.

So, this will be a litmus test for Garrett and the staff...

This season has sealed my opinion of Garrett in that I think he should be gone (along with the GM)...injuries no doubt have hurt this team defensively, but that is no excuse for the offensive meltdowns...the GB game was it for me...but Garrett is as safe as if he were still in his mom's womb because Jerry will not fire him (nor the GM)...Yep, this game is a litmus test for Garrett with a "no fail" clause built in, Romo's injury...

On a side note, I still think Dallas wins...

I agree with all you said...Not as sure about a win this week as you appear to be though....but I DO think they have a shot. I'm certainly not one that has given up on this game like many have.

LOL! I just think the law of averages catches up with the Cowboys this week. Since they have been sliced up by all these back up QBs I think it is time our back up QB to return the favor and Philly is as good as any opponent for it to happen to...Plus, I am a firm believe that it doesn't matter how you look getting to the dance as long as you get there...

Should the Cowboys have paid more attention to their practice squad QB Alex Tanney. He was picked off the practice squad by Cleveland and signed with them on Nov 26th. Do you think he would be a better choice than going to a retired QB?

Given Romo's age you would expect the Cowboys to start putting together a migration plan to the "next" QB. But I have not seen anything suggesting that Dallas can see beyond Romo. This happened after Aikman...the team wondered in the wilderness for years. I am not saying the young guys they have had on the practive squad were the answer, but you need a pipeline of talent to evaluate and groom.

Could Dallas have grabbed a decent QB off someone else's practice squad...?

What this really means is that Kitna won't be elibible for the hall of fame for anther 5 years now. His signing cost him 2 years of elibibility.

Wow.. with a testimony like that, you'd think it would be impossible that he only led one team to a winning record in his 14 year career and that to an 8-7 record over a decade ago...

He led the Seahawks and Bengals to the playoffs.
