Knowing we're good enough to still be playing, I can't enjoy this Sunday

Anyone else feel like this? I always enjoy the championship games, but in just feel like blah because we aren't in it. We destroyed the colts, we owned the Seahawks in their house, and we should've best Green Bay. I'm a huge fan of the NFL in General and I like to watch it all, but man, idk if I can this weekend

Same here OP. I don't think I can watch. Definitely not the NFC games.

The best NFL weekend of the year is this weekend. Championship weekend!

Nope. Not even close. Like the OP said, we shoulda been there. When we sucked at. 500 for three years straight, I somehow got myself in the mood. Not this year!

All valid points. I would contend the Colts D/Green Bay Defenses are pretty avg at best. Sometimes you're matched up against the right teams. The Colts faced a decimated and underachieving Bengals team that ALWAYS faulters come postseason. Then a Denver team that was trending down for the last month. We we're amongst 3 12-4 teams in the NFC but lost out due tie breakers having beat Seattle at their place. So I would argue that we deserved to be where we were and contend for a SB. We're also 8-0 on the road which made last weeks game all the more intriguing. I'll grant you that Rodgers being hobbled helped us tremendously but we also came up short on several opportunities to sieze control of the game (mismanaging the half resulting in a 10 or 6 point swing/not recovering a fumbled kickoff return/Murray's fumble looking at nothing but green in front of him etc.) This is not a Romo vs Rodgers conversation. So many other factors are at play here and we could have beat them. No need to rationalize not being "good enough" to still be playing.

Baltimore put up too many points on the Pats for me to be impressed with their D....so I discredit everything, but Seattle, and we already beat them. We could play (and win) with any of these teams without a doubt...

Will be a hollow feeling but wanting something like this to happen.

1. Hawks beat Packers to send them back to reality land

2. Colts beat NE... Enough of the Pats

3. Colts upset Hawks.... The rise of Andrew Luck and the absolute end of all the Manning talk......

Im not "rooting" for anyone, but the Colts are the team I dislike the least and they are the underdog...however it wouldnt feel good if they pull it off.

I feel the exact same way, we should be playing this weekend and the NFL knows it. That was a BS call last week, Dez caught that football. Guys work waaaay to hard to get robbed like that. Seattle didn't want to see us either they know we can beat them. Yea it sucks to be sitting at home knowing darn well we should be playing this weekend. Smh!

i think it's because you know it's going to be tough to duplicate the spirit we saw on this year's team.

people think if we just add a couple of dlinemen then we're on the way to the super bowl. that's not how it works unfortunately.

this year we benefited from good health, a weak division, and great team chemistry. this was a special year ruined by crooked refs.

Yeah I fear this one will be a lifetime of regret

Thanks for pointing that out.

To a group of people who saw Romo's team beat the Seahawks' super defense, then beat Luck's team, and almost beat the Packers last week. While Romo himself went 54 of 71 for 659 yards, 8 TD 0 INT, with a 141.7 rating in those games.

You posterized that poster

Our defense wasn't good enough to be playing this Sunday. :(
And, as much as I love Romo, he's not Aaron Rodgers. If you'll notice, the top quarterbacks in the league (Rodgers, Brady, Luck) or the team with a super defense (Seahawks) are playing. Romo can get us up to a certain point. But we needed help from our defense and didn't get it.
So while I think we could have been playing, the post-season really shows you the value of your units - both offensively and defensively. And while we overachieved, practically speaking, we finished where we should have as a team. We're a notch below Green Bay and Seattle. But I expect us to push pass them next year, if we make all the right moves.

There is so much ridiculousness in this post.

It's time to get over the hurt...Could have easily lost to Detroit. We got a gift, cashed it in. Paid the piper last week. Goals for next year, win games you should. Win the division and then get homefield throughout the playoffs.

I haven't watched a sports channel or a highlight since last Sunday. It made me not even care about the NCAA game, or any games coming up this weekend. I'm still very BITTER about it. If the NFL wants it's fans judging them like the NBA fans do their league, then I'll care less and less. I'm actually saddened by it. If they care more about make up calls than they do getting it right, To hell with them!!!

Our OL wasn't good enough protecting Romo the past 2 games, our pass rush wasn't good enough, and our pass d was definately not. And our running game was average at best.

I doubt I'll sit down and make it a point to watch, but I'll be paying attention to what happens either way. Plus, it ain't like I can ignore it living up here in Seahawks country.

Nope, I'm out this season. I share the sentiment of those who said that it was easier to get in the mood and look forward to the playoffs when we had no chance of being in it.
We had a real shot this year. It's going to take a long time to get over it. I really hope that ref crew gets a serious case of bed bugs, lice and scabies simultaneously.

Oh, I'm done. No football all week. No ESPN, no nothing. And I won't be watching the rest of the playoffs or the Superbowl. I dont' care. I'm done. The realist in me says maybe our D wasn't good enough to get to the superbowl and win. But I'll never know. So don't care. I was told even my 15 year old niece who knows very little about football other than how much I love the Cowboys screamed when she saw how and that we lost. That breaks my heart all over again. So I'm going to just watch murder shows and the Real Housewives and online shop and work out and get ready to lay on the beach in FL. See you guys in July. Yep.

I'll be in front of my TV like every Detroit Lions fan was last week, waiting for the other shoe to drop. F Green Bay. Go Seahawks!

I'ma gonna be at a sports bar in Vegas, and I have zero interest in the NFC game. I mean, like I specifically don't want to be in that situation.

I think I'll just get drunk.

Kind of agree. 2009 was totally different. I knew we didn't belong in the final 4 teams left. We did beat the Saints earlier but still. We had a ways to go. Vikings were head and shoulders above us.

This is different. We were on every single team's level in this league. Not one team left scared me. We had GB if it was not for our own mistakes. They were begging us to beat them early and put them out of their misery but we did not do so and let them hang around.

It will definitely be the biggest what could have been season I've ever been apart of. Even 2007. That team faded big time and had injuries. This team finished the season 6-1 and was rolling. Sucks.
