Knowing we're good enough to still be playing, I can't enjoy this Sunday

Anyone else feel like this? I always enjoy the championship games, but in just feel like blah because we aren't in it. We destroyed the colts, we owned the Seahawks in their house, and we should've best Green Bay. I'm a huge fan of the NFL in General and I like to watch it all, but man, idk if I can this weekend

Nope.

We are what we are.

A team that lost in the playoffs. Twice! To the Lions and Green Bay.

I'm going to enjoy this Sunday. The bloody mary's and the fellas are all waiting. 2pm CST I will be firmly planted at the bar fully prepared to watch Green Bay get throttled.

All valid points. I would contend the Colts D/Green Bay Defenses are pretty avg at best. Sometimes you're matched up against the right teams. The Colts faced a decimated and underachieving Bengals team that ALWAYS faulters come postseason. Then a Denver team that was trending down for the last month. We we're amongst 3 12-4 teams in the NFC but lost out due tie breakers having beat Seattle at their place. So I would argue that we deserved to be where we were and contend for a SB. We're also 8-0 on the road which made last weeks game all the more intriguing. I'll grant you that Rodgers being hobbled helped us tremendously but we also came up short on several opportunities to sieze control of the game (mismanaging the half resulting in a 10 or 6 point swing/not recovering a fumbled kickoff return/Murray's fumble looking at nothing but green in front of him etc.) This is not a Romo vs Rodgers conversation. So many other factors are at play here and we could have beat them. No need to rationalize not being "good enough" to still be playing.

I appreciate your post. But when it's all said and done, we're not playing. And I think that has more to do with the defense than Romo or a bad call.

Thanks for pointing that out.

To a group of people who saw Romo's team beat the Seahawks' super defense, then beat Luck's team, and almost beat the Packers last week. While Romo himself went 54 of 71 for 659 yards, 8 TD 0 INT, with a 141.7 rating in those games.

You welcome. I was merely pointing out how ot either takes a great quarter back or great defense to advance to the final rounds. We didn't have a great defense, and Romo, while good, isn't Rodgers. Besides, the playoffs are another level altogether. But I think you already know that.

The Colts have a better defense than we do?

Somehow the Colts seem to get better when in the playoffs..... To me I hope they win it all this year. That will put an end to the Manning legend, and even Brady loveliest... Still given the choice I'll take NE over Seattle if it comes to that....

HAHAHAHA Luck over Romo...

Luck is basically carrying his team. If you perceive that as a Luck v. Romo argument, have at it. But the Colts have an average defense and no running game, and here they are in the championship game.

Nope, I'm out this season. I share the sentiment of those who said that it was easier to get in the mood and look forward to the playoffs when we had no chance of being in it.
We had a real shot this year. It's going to take a long time to get over it. I really hope that ref crew gets a serious case of bed bugs, lice and scabies simultaneously.

.......in their shorts.

And yet we put up 42 points on that defense.

first, our offense is probably top in the nfl...so thats to be expected.

second, their offense didnt do jack that day = defense always out on the field and tired early = gives up more points than usual

Fair enough. But Colts defense isn't what is keeping them in the tournament. Their run is tied to Luck's play. You could say that the Colts were extremely, er, lucky to have played a Bengals team without its best receiver and a hobbled Peyton Manning. Still, the offense had to make plays against relatively better defenses, and the offense did.

luck has like a 85 qb rating on the season and they have no running game...either they would be getting smoked or the defense is playing pretty decent

Or he has elevated his game for the playoffs. Some things stats just can't account for.
