Do you think that's a wise move?,,,or,,,just a sound bizzness decision?,,,, my point being is that #50 should make one Hell of a linebackers coach for some team once he's through playing,,, I don't really know just how articulate he is or about his 'people's skills' in conveying the message in a retentive manner, but, IMO ,He'd be a good one,,,,Hell, who knows? He might just wanna fade out& raise channel cats& mallard ducks somewhere up in Iowa, while limping away into old ageo_O

I think all of that is yet to be determined. I would not be surprised to see Lee rebound and play at a high level for about 3 more years total and I would not be surprised if we have already seen the beginning of the end and poor play for the rest of the year. All of it is yet to be determined.

When and If Garret is let go i think Richard would be a great head coaching candidate. At the very least he'd be a good d coordinator. He's the type of person that needs to be kept. Love that fact he has championship experience. Guy knows what he's doing.

Whatever. They should hire me to coach the Cowboys. I have never coached before, but I don't see that as any sort of impediment! Lol.

This topic, and the obvious influence that a coach like Richard has, only reinforces my personal belief that the prior coaches and staff - and extension of the current head coach - is what is holding this team back. Just like the defense is showing, the player talent is there. It's only now that Richard is here that that talent is put to its best use.

Meanwhile, all of the coaches charged with coaching the offense - top to bottom - are failing in their responsibilities. Despite a team stocked with first round picks and Pro Bowlers, the Cowboys offense currently ranks 30th.

While I'm kind of inclined to agree with you on certain aspects, talent-wise we have not been this solid in some time. We are young, and have alot of players coming into their prime at the same time which makes for a mean squad. I do think Richard has helped, but I don't think this defensive turnaround is on the coaches as much as it is better roster management, drafting, and player acquisition by the front office. Neither was the previous defenses playing poorly entirely on coaching.

Let's see, I think I just gave Jerry credit while saying something wasn't completely Garrett's fault. Please don't hurt me or my family.

You have to wonder if Garrett feels threatened having Richard around.

It's still early days so the jury is still out, but based on what I have seen so far it would not bother me one bit to see Richard as the next HC with Sean Lee as his DC.

Richard would just need to find a creative offensive guru and send Linehan packing.

From what Broaddus said, Rod still calls the plays, but he's let Kris take over the secondary and also trust him enough to try some of his ideas.

I guess my assumption was correct and the guy on the inside doesn’t really know the things you would think he should be privy to.

Maybe. But for now we need him to keep this defense playing well.

I got to see Richard in camp. He’s an awesome coach. Dude intercepted an overthrow in the end zone during camp and ran it out.

Kris Richard is the perfect example of why coaching matters. Byron Jones looked like a bust playing out of position. Kris moved him back to CB immediately and now Byron Jones is looking like a shut down corner. It's amazing that for the first time in decades, we've had a defense that could win us games and didn't just shut down and give up easy points at the end of half.

I want him advising the offensive coaches on how to wreck the Seattle defense....

Particularly, I want to burn ET.

We had most of these same players last year and yet the defense looks much better. The secondary looks completely different. Byron went from a bust into a stud, and Anthony Brown looks much better. These were guys that were here last year. Richard makes a definite tangible difference. This is the same guy that coached the Legion of Boom who shut down Peyton Manning in the superbowl when Manning was having a historic year.

Garrett already tried to take a shot at Richard when he blamed the defense during halftime of the Carolina game

He just might turn out to be the best assistant coach acquired under the Garrett regime. I know the sample size is rather small at this point but the difference in the secondary play and the defense overall is markedly better. The defensive backs actually turn around to locate the ball now. It seems like years since that has happened at that position. And you’ve got to love all the press coverage.

Our next D coordinator in the making. Let’s hope it comes to fruition.
Next year Kris is either DC or Head Coach

He has, or so far it certainly appears this way, done a fantastic job turning this secondary around. One of the best hires this team has made in some time. I love me some defense and it's nice to see some being played in Dallas.

I like Marinelli and respect the guy but it's just about time for him to ride into the sunset. I'm excited about Richards.
:yourock::yourock::yourock:Will have the best defense since Jimmy Johnson days.
