But is it? I don't deny there are probably some scheme issues.

But it wasn't scheme that caused some of those dreadful interceptions in the San Fran game. It wasn't all scheme that he looked totally inept against Washington. When he threw a pick 6 in the Eagles game (where he played mostly great), that wasn't scheme. It was a dumb pass. Scheme/talent didn't have him miss open WRs in the San Fran game.

The reality is that even with scheme and talent deficiencies, Dak just isn't consistent enough. He certainly wasn't this season. Can he get more consistent? I honestly don't know. He's a 7 year vet in this league, there is a good chance he is what he is.

But since he's here due to his contract, I am all for trying to just give him a fresh start with a new OC. I just am not sure that somehow changes the trajectory for him. I think he's forever stuck in the mud as a decent QB. Good enough to win some games, not good enough to actually take a team to a SB. But at this point if Jerry wants to salvage this, unless he has a trade in mind, his only other option is get a new offensive scheme in here for Dak.
Jerry should call in Kurt Warner. Ask him if he'd like to coach (QB coach or O-Coordinator) for the Cowboys. If Kurt refuses, ask him if he will take 6 weeks of his time to train Dak (and our receivers) both in the film room and on the field. Guarantee Dak and receivers would improve.

A lot of it is scheme...yes. Sorry but the 49ers weren't fooled at all by the curl and comeback offense.

Ya Dak threw a pick 6 vs Phill that Sweat made a great play on. Then went unconscious the rest of the game to destroy Philly.

Washington isn't all on dak..there were 6 drops. It snowballed.

Dak had no weapons around him, no Oline, no running game half of the time, poor receiver route running with no separation, poor route running concepts and poor playcalling/schemes. Plus, he needs better QB coaching. Get everything improved and you will see Dak be much more consistent. Even Brian Baldinger and Kurt Warner said as much today.
As I suspected.

It's everyone's fault but Dak's. He's an elite QB being held back by the GM, the WRs, the coaches, his QB instruction, the RBs, the OL, etc.

PS - Some of this isn't even accurate. For example, the Cowboys OL actually rates pretty well statistically in pass blocking. They were 4th in sacks allowed. Football Outsiders has them rated as a Top 7 pass blocking OL. So blaming the OL for Dak's passing issues is a reach.

So we are back to blaming most everyone else but Dak. Got it. No one said Washington was all on Dak. The team largely played crappy. But Dak was right there with the rest of them as he was putrid himself.

Great, we run a lot of curls. That doesn't mean Dak should just throw into double coverage because that's the "scheme". Understand the concept of a compounding problem. Maybe the play call was wrong but Dak compounds it by making poor throws.

Fake news. They weren't ranked 30th. Not even close.

The first one is on Dak....but when is that route ever OK?

He had no idea what to do at the top of it and decided to do nothing.
He was actually coming back to the football. It’s a timing route and has to be on point. While I hate the comebacks it’s the offense. Aikman use to release before out of the break to a spot. The offense calls for you to be in that spot.

I didn't watch this one but from watching other ones I can just hear Warner saying....

"I don't know what the OC is trying to do here but Dak is little late with the throw, but OC should have helped him out by having this route combination instead of that one. That route combination has no purpose, and the timing of the play is all wrong".

Basically, he thinks Dak is late with some passes, but the OC could have done a better job and helped him out with better route combo.
Well that does actually sum up the Dallas offense pretty damn well!

I said it dozens of times now that Dak was bad vs SF.. very disappointed in him.

Not saying he is garbage and can never do it like most on this board though.

Not true. I stated game night that Dak choked during key moments.

As for the Oline, several reputable sites had the Oline amongst the worst (28 out of 32) in pass block win rate.

Ya, like I stated yesterday on here somewhere...the only time I felt like the OC made a difference and helped the qb was on our TD drive.

Other than that it was helter skelter.

I never said he was garbage either. But he is inconsistent. It's kind of preposterous to argue that he wasn't this season.

Dak throws it like that too...it is a staple of our offense after all.

I played the position...I would never run a comeback like Gallup did.

The defender ran it better than he did.

The whole offense was inconsistent. Who does that fall on?

Coaching.

We need a seasoned playcaller/qb guru. This teammate coaching an offense has run its course.

Bbbbbbuuuuttttt

Pass block win rate. What about pass block win rate? You know, that obscure and meaningless stat that no one even knew existed before Dak exhausted all other excuses.....

And there you go. Right on cue

Cowboys near top of league in least sacks and least pressures allowed.

But "pass block win rate". Whatever the hell that is lol

I guarantee you if Jerry tries to trade Dak (with Dak's approval as to which team(s) to approach), Bill Belichik and the Patriots would make a trade for Dak. Then all of these Dak haters would be here regretting and complaining for the next 5+ years while watching Dak and the Patriots win a couple of Super Bowls. I guarantee it.
Jesus. Bill doesn't tolerate players who can't carry out their duties.
