Kurt Warner on Dak

Tim Tebow lead a playoff comeback win against the Steelers. He's "proven he can play in this league, too." Where is he again?
Really? Tebow couldn't throw. The whole thing is laughable. Tebow could play in this league...just not as QB. Dak led this team to a 13-3 record and played great in a playoff loss to GB. Yea lets compare him to a guy that nobody would want. A year ago everybody was raving about Dak except a few Romo homers. The guy gets pounded into the ground because his left tackle got hurt and his replacement couldn't stop anything and people wonder why he looked so shook up the rest of the season? The whole thing is laughable. He may or may not be able to bounce back from that but he proved he belonged in this league.

Personally I never understood the hatred for this kid. Not like he injured Romo. He was a rookie and he had no say in any of the decisions made to not play Romo and stick with Dak.
I blame it on fantasy football. People want him to look like Tom Brady in year 2.

Ayyy, you must have missed his five 4th quarter comebacks in 2016 (making him the 12th highest all time) and his 93 passer rating in the 4th quarter.
I am not sold on him yet i need to see more consistency in his part. I think he is a good quarterback but not a great one.
I just don't want us to waste this great OL and the running back we have.

The QB that you defined... there are about 2-3 in the league at any given time. And teams burn too 10 picks on QB’s all the time that never live up to that billing.
I agree not too many of them around but my point is if we can upgrade this position too why not.

Nothing to explain ......... you guys are full of it.
a bit OT
i used to read these forums years ago, long story short -lost my password and the email to reset it
you used to be a very positive person i remember
what happened

not really. He is a really amazing and positive person. So is Tim Tebow. He's also not an NFL caliber QB.

The Tebow comparisons are incredibly lazy and stupid. Tebow couldnt even complete 60% of his passes.

The truth is Dak is a far more accomplished and talented passer than Tebow. To go along with the athleticism and leadership. It’s really not even debatable.

they're literally the same type of QB. Tebow just never had the running game or offensive line that Dak has to work with. If he did, he probably would have been better. Dak has issues with his throwing. So does Tebow.

I want Dak (and every other Cowboy player) to succeed. I just don't think he has the talent as a QB.

tweaking the system (play calling) to the QB is one thing - changing personnel to fit the QB is utterly stupid

I just hope that the front office puts together a good team around Dak. He cant do it alone... nobody can. So far... it looks like they are doing a decent job but like everything about football, we wont know until they take the field. GO COWBOYS!!!

I really dig that Dak the person vs. Dak the QB thing. Sounds like an out of body experience.

Kurt Warner must be an idiot for believing in Dak...according to the volumes of vitriol around here.
its not much different than it was for Romo. If Dak leads us to the promise land everyone will follow. Much like they will for Garrett.

Social media allows for everyone to bash and bully. Amazing the power of anonymous typing of words. Lol

We really shouldnt take all of this so personal. It's a place for us all to mesh together in one big unhappy dysfunctional family. Like a Cowboy goolish or trashcan punch.lol

Here is some factual information on Dak's spatial passing accuracy. Magenta color is low completion percentage. I will let everybody draw their own conclusions on the intermediate deep and deep (20+ yards) passes!!

Prescott’s performances against three styles of defense
The charts below show Prescott’s performance against the three defenses primarily faced.

The data below is highlighted with five colors.

Light blue refers to completion percentages of: 70 or more in the short to intermediate areas or 50 or more in the deep part of the field.

Green refers to touchdowns thrown.

Yellow emphasizes explosive plays that gained 20 yards or more.

Red shows interceptions.

Magenta refers to completion percentages: below 50 in the short to intermediate areas, or below 25 in the deep part of the field.

Notice how Prescott achieved a superb completion percentage in 14 of 20 areas against single-high, zone coverage. Most quarterbacks should be at their most accurate in the “short” to “intermediate short” depths from the line of scrimmage. But to reach the 70’s to high 80’s in all parts of the field within 10 yards is outstanding work.

There were only one-third as many high-completion areas against single-high matchup as there were versus single-high zone.

However, almost twice as many touchdowns were thrown against man coverage than zone, despite criticisms of the offense being too predictable and not scheming receivers open frequently.

Over the course of Prescott’s career, he’s shown much greater accuracy against single-high zone but has been more prolific, throwing for more touchdowns and explosive plays, when facing matchup-type defenses.

This can partly be explained by the fact that zone defenses offer natural holes in their coverage that can be exploited when the quarterback and receiver are on the same page and executing their assignments sufficiently.

Or perhaps there’s another reason the soon-to-be third-year starter appears even more comfortable facing off against Cover 3 than Cover 1?

Look at Prescott’s performance when playing against two-high zone defenses.

Oddly, the Mississippi State alum had below a 50 completion percentage going to the right sideline, intermediate deep section, but still threw for four touchdowns and three explosive plays.

Feels like we kind of got short changed on that post, could you expand on that a little?
