What, no way, Dude. It won’t be near the top five. In three years, when we still have him under contract for another 3 years he’ll be 15th highest paid for sure - values for tackles will continue to increase.
Go look at the guarantees we have on Tyron, FredBeard, and Martin...
This was a smart deal 6 years for 32 guaranteed!
Can't wait for your thoughts once the contract details are released.
Good for him! Jerry was good to him when he gave him that early extension. Collins was good to the team in return. He hasn't been Pro Bowl caliber, but he is on the same path as Tuenei and Free.
I'll take that. He is a good solid player.
Well, I guess we’re screwed forever..Yeah Dude.
I just looked at the contracts for right tackles. Of the 15 highest paid right now, only ONE is up for a new contract before 2022.......... Jack Conklin. Actually, I am wrong, there is a 2nd.......... Brian Bulaga but he's over 30 and likely won't get a big contract extension at his age.
So yeah, in 2 years, Collins will likely still be paid like a Top 5 right tackle. That's insane.
Better to sign these guys now before this new CBA is put into place.

I love this deal..
Durable, serviceable tackle, and a potentially dominant guard between FredBreard and Tyrone..
Always hating, always trolling.Solid players don't make Top 3 money at their position. Well normally they don't. But this is Dallas, so anything is possible when it comes to contracts.
It was a sound decision..Serviceable tackles (serviceable players in general) shouldn't be paid Top 3 at their position.
How is it you guys don't grasp this concept? I mean shoot, why stop there? Let's pay Tyrone Crawford another huge contract because he's a "serviceable" DL.
This is a questionable deal for an OT that struggles in pass protection but, granted, is a good run blocker. And I am going to hate it more if it means down the road we have to let Byron Jones walk or Maliek Collins walk if he has a good year or Robert Quinn walk if he has a good year.
