Who's he supposed to play with in Dallas an aging Dirk? Yeah like that's any better than playing with Kobe who is still one of the best in the league.
MegaMagick;4832165 said:Collison and Mayo have both recently turned 25 and are forming one of the most lethal back courts in the NBA, if Dirk comes back and shows that he has something left in the tank, i'd rather play with that lineup and have the added stability of a great coach, owner, and GM.

Cowboys&LakersFan;4832171 said:Collison and Mayo are solid players, but they're not superstars or even All Stars. That's a big if with Dirk. When you have a knee injury that late in your career odds are you never make it all the way back. Kobe Bryant so far is having his best season since 2006. He's playing phenomenal and clearly has at least a few more years of superstar level player. He's averaging 27 points and over 55 percent from the field.
The Lakers have also shown a great ability to go out and get superstars. In 2014 they're gonna have alot of cap space to go get one. In other words Dwight would get to play with Kobe for a couple of seasons and then in 2014 play with another superstar.

Sacramento used the same type of offense and it worked for them because they were fast tempo, big men could pass, and anyone from the point to the center can shoot outside jumpers without hesitation imo. Washington worked because they had scorers in Arenas, Hughes, Butler, and Jamison. The Lakers are not that team. Their offense is about pick and roll, post up, and isolation.

Cant wait who he throws under the bus next. I'm thinking Dwight...

After losing four of five games to start the season, the Los Angeles Lakers fired coach Mike Brown on Friday.
Brown's agent, Warren LeGarie confirmed the firing, saying Brown had informed him of his dismissal. Chuck Person has been named the Lakers' interim coach.
It is unclear whether the organization will make a run at bringing back Phil Jackson, but two candidates most prominently being discussed as long-term possibilities: Mike D'Antoni and Brian Shaw.
D'Antoni has been without a job since leaving the New York Knicks in 2011, and Shaw is the top assistant with the Indiana Pacers. The candidacy of Shaw is a dicier proposition, given the acrimony that ensued between the Lakers front office and Shaw after the team chose to replace Jackson with Brown over Shaw.
USA Today first reported Brown's firing.
