He averaged over 20 yards a catch and almost a 1/4 of his catches were TD's. In a time where defensive backs could man handle the receivers. Amazing.
The league had never seen anything like Bob Hayes when he showed up. He literally forced the invention of the zone defense because bump and run was never going to work on a guy who could outrun not just every other player on the field but every other person on the planet. His TD rate was absurd.. but with that speed if you didn't tackle him within a couple of strides you were never going to.
