Last week of Terry Glenn's NFL Career?

If Glenn doesn't sign the split contract this week, Jerruh should cut him. He won't be allowed to participate in any activities in training camp. They can't lock him out. Heck, Glenn can fall down stairs going to a WR meeting and wind up on the IR, while earning full pay.

I say cut him before the team leaves for Oxnard.

Redundant?

Yes

But to respond

i say we shouldn't.

Yes, it is beaten to death, but we are a week from training camp and the dumbs**t hasn't signed the split contract yet. Maybe it gets done in the next week, but I wouldn't let him near Oxnard. And BTW, I wouldn't offer another dime to him. He robbed the team blind last year.

I dont think his career is over.

I do however think after listening to jjt two weeks ago on with mike doocy that his cowboys career is over.

I think that sucks. I wanted him to be part of a winner here and get a championship. I just think if you call out jerry in the media and demand a release that you basically cut off your nose in spite of your face.

so unfortunately I think his cowboys days are over. He will probably be released thursday I imagine and that will be the big story for this weekend.

then he can catch on somewhere else which I think he will. I wonder if cleveland or arizona give him a call.

Jerry Jones has already said that the issue could go on until September, I believe. Where is the status quo option for the poll?

He didn't rob the team blind. He could have made that 4.6 mil had the season ending surgery in TC and been done with it.

Instead he did everything he could to come back this season, and was not able to.

Should he sign that offer? yes, but signing it now, or the week of the season won't change anything, other than opening up opportunity for him to get hurt.

If anything he's playing hardball, so he won't play in TC and won't risk injury like he did last season.

But by all means continue to blast him, and run him through the dirt, when signs his contract and catches the game winning TD in the first game of the season, you won't remember this thread.

Actually, it has been the Cowboys decision not to let him practice; not Terry's.

Yes but if Terry wanted to practice, he could easily sign the contract, and practice. you really think he's pitching a fit between 500K and 750K?

Really?

He didn't have the surgery the team recommended. He went his own way and kept a roster spot hostage the entire year.

What good will Glenn be is he doesn't participate in camp? They can't let him do anything without the risk of him falling down, grabbing his knee and running off with another 1.7 million.

Do you cut a Hurd, or Austin, or maybe Amendola to keep a Glenn around after he skipped all the workouts, camp, and a full seaosn, in hopes that he can participate during the regular season?

Glenn had a good run with this team. He helped us to some 9-7 seasons. But now, we need a little more and he can't give it. All player's careers end. It is Glenn's time. If Jerruh had the guts to fire Tom Landry, he should have the guts to cut Terry Glenn!

When he's proven to be finished I will remember it.

And the time and money wasted on this whole process.

He did not keep a roster spot hostage, he did not have the surgery recommend because he wanted to come back and help the team. It is not his fault that crayton pulled up on his route, and dropped the 3rd down pass. He did not want his season to end, he wanted to help the team, and we're kicking him in the dirt because of it?

He is a veteran who needs little to no practice to be efficient in a game. He has yet to prove during his time here that he is the kind of player to just pull in a paycheck. (case in point Commanders game last year when Landry took out his knees) Holding that against him again is pointless, seeing as how he has yet to pull that stunt under the star

Oh im so worried about the decision between two undrafted rookies, and a 6th round pick. Hurd/Stanback/Austin/TO/Glenn/Crayton the same crew from last year, why am i so freakin up about Amendola? Because he had a great rookie mini camp? Because everyone says he's white, small, quick, and like Wes Welker?

Please try again

yes he did have a good run, but we dont need more, we need him to give what he did during those seasons, and there is no reason to think he can't do that, until he gets on the field this year.

Having the guts to fire Landry has nothing to do with this, unless your just grasping at straws.

And there goes Glenn's chance for ever getting a SB ring. I guess we'll see how much that truly means to him. It obviously doesn't mean dick to guys like Javon Walker, who would rather chase the money and wallow in mediocrity.

He's pitching a fit at having to sign a split contract at all. Do you think he is refusing to sign just so he doesn't have to practice?

Really?

He's pitched at a fit at signing a split contract at such a low price (from the latest reports I've read)

and did we not see last year, when strahan sat around talking about he wants to retire, and all that whining, and then TC comes to an end, and here he is in uniform ready to play in Game 1.

I'm glad to know you can know exactly what Terry is doing, and that this is completely out of the question though.

Sure will.

My memory isn't selective or revisionist like some people's.

Glenn is now a 'hero' becuase he went against the team's wishes and wasted an entire season doing it 'his way'?

Pfft. Please.

Glenn's motives were his own, not the team's. The team wanted him to get healthy for the long haul.

If he had done that, he'd be ready to go instead of posturing like he is now.

If he's as healthy as he claims, signing the split contract shouldn't be an issue.

Apparently it is.

I'll wait to see what happens at the start of camp.

If Glenn is still posturing, I would not hesitate to cut him immediately and move on.

The last thing I want to see is another wasted season of wasted money, wasted time, and wasted roster spots for a guy who can no longer play.

and the last thing i want to see, is him cut, and then signing with and NFC East, and have him torching us two times a year on the way to the playoffs, while we sit scratching are butts wondering how we're going to fix the #2 spot, because Austin still can't catch, and Hurd still can't run, and Danny ended up being just another guy.

He didn't go against the team's wishes. He was given two options and if I felt up to it, I'd find the quote by Jerry stating it was completely up to Terry as to which surgery he wanted to choose. He chose the surgery that would give him the best chance of getting back on the field last year. Jerry and Co. applauded the decision. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

That's not heroic in my mind. It's just choices made. I think some (not you, necessarily) need to reconcile the fact that the TG issue is going to linger through training camp. There's no reason to release him now. He's not taking snaps from the younger guys and there's no one on the market who the 'boys could acquire that would make such a move worth it.

I don't think you need to worry.

The guy couldn't and cannot even pass a team's physical.

And you're worried about him 'torching us'?

Wow!

Put down the 2006 highlight tapes and fast forward to the present.

The last time this guy actually could take the field, he was a complete non-factor.

And now he's so 'healthy' that he won't even bet on himself to stay that way?

Doesn't scream 'confidence' or 'honesty' to me.

More like a guy looking to pick up another year of NFL salary whether he can' contribute or not.

Anybody who would allow him to do that is a sucker.
