LB Need

Middle linebackers that come out of college at 6-4 256 who can run, hit, cover, AND rush the passer dont exactly grow on trees. In fact they are pretty rare. He absolutely can be another Urlacher IMO. In fact,.... if you compare LVE's combine numbers to Urlachers in many ways LVE outshined Urlacher. As an added bonus,.... he's a rowdy bastid on the field. Gotta love it. If used properly raw emotion can be inspiring to a defense.

Isn't it obvious? He is Caucasian, therefore a lesser LB by default.

;)

I remember when so many people said the same kind of things about the Watt Boys and Joey Bosa only to have been made to look foolish. Bosa REALLY rubbed peoples noses in poo!...LMAO! He was pretty dominant right out of the gate. Thinking LVE may just do the same thing.

We definitely need players with attitudes. It is one of the reasons I like Heath, he plays with some of that. As woods and Awauxie are hitters, and Frazier, and show a little bit of that.
It can inspire a team, especially as to get them fired up and not give up those late game leads.

I STILL can't believe we took Taco over T.J.

Just unbelievable.

time will tell if but we needed more of a pure DE as opposed to a tween type that was more a 3-4 guy than a 4-3
I am still ok with the pick

Lee is our old guy. Don’t need another. Just my opinion. Not saying you’re wrong. If we got Bowman on a cheap deal, I’m good with it.

Since when is 29 old. In no world is that old. Hes basically still in his prime.

The Thing that you Need to check is Bowmans Injury History but not his Age.

I know. Some said he was just too small. Even though he was bigger than Lawrence when he was drafted and WAYYYYY bigger than Gregory when he was drafted. As an added bonus,.... if you looked at the pie charts that came out after the combine Watt's numbers were thru the roof. Unreal.

Jane Slater was just on NFLN.
For the 1st time from what she was saying, form info she got from the team. They feel LB's in this draft is deep, and with 10 picks, they may end up picking 3 LB's. But they feel Jaylon will be better, ut they still need LB's to compete, as they really only have Lee, Smith and Wilson.

Also that they want to improve depth on the OL, and feel Fleming is more of a T than a g, so still want to address that.
WR not as high on that list.

But then again it is the draft so do we buy into WR not be high on the list.
I have been saying for months we need to draft 3 LB's at least.

Im actually warming to Taco a little bit. He may just be ok for us. But the fact remains,.... as a pure athlete......... Taco cant touch Watt.

Josey Jewell is just as good or better than LVE. He can be had in rd. 3. What about a tightend at 19? Gesicki?..Hurst? or Goedert? Just sayin..Witten is a dinosaur and I don't see anyone on the roster that is ready or able to step up when he's gone. Goedert would be my guy if we can trade back from 19.

Jewell is slower than slow and very unathletic...all he has is amazing football IQ and the ability to make plays all over the field...that dude is a MLB...go get him jerry !

MLB isn't "half time". The two best coverage LBs will play in nickel. It just depends on who's better.

He said he pictured Jaylon in nickel sets because he's good and there's little to no competition there. As it stands, Lee and Jaylon are the 3 down LBs. Okay, yes.

I think Jaylon is a more natural Will anyway, so it's reasonable to think he'd move to Will if Lee gets injured, and LVE can step in as well.

I have no doubt that at some point this season LVE will be taking full time snaps.

MLB is half time, as long as Lee and Smith are healthy, this season and next. That's why I don't see us spending big for a MLB who could also be full time.

Lee is a better WLB. So is Jaylon. That's the premier position. That's what they'll draft big high for, when they need it. But not when they already have the starters for the next couple of years.

Jaylon is Lee's eventual replacement. They'll draft a developmental WLB to backfill Jaylon when he finally replaces Lee, and to maybe be the designated backup come next year.

In the meantime, instead of trying to draft a MLB/WLB, they should just draft/sign a half time MLB run specialist. They're cheap and will be better at MLB than some WLB playing out of position.

If LVE was as good as some of you guys claim, he would be a top 10 prospect. He had a nice bowl game, but is that what he does on average? Oregon wasn't exactly Clemson or OU last year.

DeMarcus Ware didn't go top ten. Went 11.

And there was a lot of nashing of teeth on that one.

As there should be, but exceptions don't make the rule. As a general rule of thumb, you don't go small school in round 1. Every few years, you'll get a Ware or Khalil Mack, but its not a well you want to go to on a regular basis.

If the Cowboys draft LVE I will make like an Indian watching a person litter.
:lmao:my grandma hated that commercial, it would really fuzz her up every time it it would come in t.v.:lmao:
* concercerning LVE, it's all speculation at this point in his position capabilities,,, I can see a JACK LAMBERT 2.0 two years down the road
:starspin:

After that first year it was pretty evident that Ware was a great choice. Not so in this situation.
You don't remember correctly. There was a lot of complaining even after that 1st year. Merriman had more sacks as a rookie in Wade Phillips' system
