Well the reports from the Lions are that they are shopping McDonald and that RW is not available. Its all over the place.
Make 'em an offer they can't refuse. Fact is, there is not a receiver in this draft that can touch RW. D. Jackson is a GREAT return man, and a decent receiver, but he's not Roy Williams. There is no guarantee that he, or any of the other receivers we would covet would be there at #22 anyway.
I would give the #22 pick in a heartbeat for Williams. He is big, fast, and has great hands. His numbers haven't been what they could have simply due to a struggling line & QB revolving door.
Put this 26 yr. old, (won't be 27 until Dec. 20) in the lineup for the next 8-10 yrs. & watch him flourish under Romo & Co. Just the thought of Williams & Owens lining up opposite each other gets my adrenaline going! If healthy next year, Terry Glenn would make them the most dangerous trio in the NFL.
We could then take the #28 pick & take a quality CB, or trade down to work out a package where we could still get a Porter or Godfrey, and move the #61 up to nab Chris Johnson, RB. Did you see his 40 Combine? A 4.24??!! Are you freaking kidding me?? No wonder he was #1 in the country with 228 combined yds. per game. Speed kills, & it is what has been killing us for so long--playing against it, & not having it. With obtaining Roy Williams, Porter or Godfrey, and Chris Johnson, we will have improved the overall quality & speed of this team.
What more can you ask? Then we have the rest of the draft & FA to go----wwwwwwaaaaaahhhhhhoooooooo!!!!!!!
