Anyway, I can't seem to get a consistent report on how the QBs have performed so far including this scrimmage.

Some say Bledsoe has looked good, others say he hasn't.

The only consistent thing I had heard is that 'Henson has struggled'...until posters were saying that he 'looked the sharpest'. Seems like a lot of people are skewing the news based upon their personal bias.

Dale, can you please give me a quick blurb on how the QBs have done so far including this scrimmage. How would you rate them so far?
THats how the ticket was reporting it.

Raw numbers from today (Nick's article tonight should have the final compilation)....

Bledsoe: 10 of 17 for 93 yards
Romo: 14 of 19 for 153 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Henson: 4 of 13 for 26 yards

Bledsoe had a red-zone pass to Witten in the end zone that should have been caught for a TD, for what it's worth. It bounced off Witten's facemask. Every quarterback had a drop or two, but that was the only one that would have been a TD.

Romo's interception came on fourth down. He said afterward he would not have made the pass had it not been "fourth down."

All the reports coming in so far is that he's looked very sharp out there today but it was emphasized that it was against the third team players.

Still...
"haha, yeah rite"

No matter how many times you try to tell someone taht QBs take time to develop, they still expect instant stardom. People, this is essentially Henson's rookie year. Last year was a "knock of the rust" year. I would give a TRUE rookie 3-4 years before writing him off. Let's see how Henson is doing in TC in 2007. It's waaaaaaaaaay too early to tell. Period. Bledsoe is the QB this year and Romo (entering his 3rd year) will be the backup.

Don't get excited or down on Henson. He's still just getting his feet wet. If he has a great practice monday it doesn't mean he'll be great and if he struggles all year it doesn't mean he won't be great. Just forget about Henson for the year.

Thanks Dale that gives a bit more perspective on the QB play. Sound like my boy Romo is holding his own at least and may make a servicable backup to Bledsoe for this year. I would like to see Henson pick it up a bit but I'm not concerned about him until next year; this year is a wash for him with the mechanics overhaul he has undergone (IMO at least).

Dude Henson better get his stuff stright because its his 2nd year now. If he isnt the real deal we need to find out now because there is a sick QB draft coming up.

Careful. That is, careful before your so quick to bash Chad Hutchinson. In case you didn't notice, he played respectibly enough last season to already pretty much lock down the second string job in Chicago this season. In fact, he's probably faring better than any backup QB on our roster right now.

Former Mother Hutcher, I assume.

I just chuckle to myself at how pathetic we Dallas fans have become.

Carter, Hutchinson, and now Henson/Romo.

We don't even recall what a good QB was like.

But we are all real quick to latch on like remoras to whatever passes by.

Rack, I agree 100%!

When we signed Henson I said, as well as many others, it would take 2 or 3 years for him to get where he needs to be. So far it has been a year, and he just changed his throwing motion this off-season. It is pretty evident he still has a ways to go. Everyone should just lay off, and let the kid develop.

Now as far as Romo goes, I actually really like the direction he seems to be heading. I keep hearing many people say he will never be anything other than a career backup. I do not understand why that is being said.

I really am starting to think he could be a lot like a Delohmme. He seems to have a fire, and work really hard. I liked what I saw from him last pre-season, and look forward to watching him this pre-season.

Tio, I've learned not to listen to those guys on the radio about a lot of things.
Just because they work sports radio, does not mean they know beans about the sport.
They are very opinionated and bias. Heck even some sportswriters (Micky is one) is like that. I attended the last TC in San Antonio, and everyday people were reporting how well Hutch was doing and that he was winning everyday and would be the starter. 15 days straight I attended practice morning and the afternoon, and not once did I see Hutch having a better day than Carter Romo and Stoerner, he shine at times but he did not consistenly do better than the other guys.
I could not believe that those guys were reporting that bogus stuff.

You have to see for yourself, man do not take those radio guys at their word, it is like rolling the dice. There are some good ones, you soon know which ones are the good ones. Dale, the guy that posts in here is good, and he will give you the truth, on his favorite players or not, he'll tell you the good and the bad.

Completely clueless.

Yeah, lets pay the guy all that money and expect instant stardom from the most difficult position to play in all of sports, eventhough he hasn't played any football for years.

That's real intelligent thinking.

Then let's draft a QB next year and if he's not a star in 1 year we do it again and again and again until we find the next Dan Marino.

Some people are just way too ignorant.

Agreed.

Henson is what he is.

We knew what ever we were getting ourselves into.

The only ones upset and disillusioned are the fans who read comments by "draft gurus" and thought we swindled the Texans out of something. The organization is taking this as it comes, but some have been concocting conspiracy theories left and right. Now there is dismay because some others feel their armchair analyses were wrong and he is acting like a player that has been away from the game and is a project.

Sometimes the arrogance of fans never ceases to make me laugh.

Warming to my 3-4 Guys! Canty, Spears, Rat, Burnett this could be a draft class of serious impact.

To get Canty in the 4th is nuts.

Facts shouldn't make you say "Wow". Facts are facts. Now, if Henson did defy all odds and did become a superstar in just his second year in the league after sitting for 4 years, then you say "Wow".

I disagree with Rack fairly consistently but this time he is right. No rush on Henson this year.

Although I do think that Henson had better show something next year and not wait until '07. If Parcells contract is extended past next year Henson had better be showing some major promise in '06 or he won't be here for '07.
