Left the scrimmage early 3 observations

I'm just glad that one of our backup QB's stepped up and played well tonight. The reports were getting worrisome.

I was reading on another site that Johnson was blowing past Torrin Tucker. Sigh.......I'm wondering if we should consider moving Tucker back to guard. That's where he played in college.

I wonder how Stephen Peterman looks @ LG.......

A lot of Cowboys fans seem to suffer from premature ejaculation when it comes to the QB situation.

Henson was amazing last year considering he had been away from football. I think he is struggling right now because of all the changes to his throwing motion and mechanics.

I bet he would look a lot better without the changes right now....but in the long run he will be a better QB once it becomes more natural for him and he doesn't have to think so much.

I may be completely wrong, but I thought they made some similar mechanic adjustments for Romo last year and he looks pretty lost and scatter armed at times as well...But this year it seems to be paying off for him.

Anyways, I am happy Romo looks good and not about to give up on Henson.

Bro im sorry I dont like putting the franchises future in the hands of a guy that had 1 good season in college and isnt doing anything in camp after all of our coaches have worked with him numorus times. Get your head out of the clouds Henson needs to show some signs of improvment, which by all acounts he hasnt or else we need to address it in the draft.

The problem with Henson is he looks like he has lost his confidence, last year he was much more sharp in camp. Today, he looked lost out there...the best thing he did today was run...

Let's at least wait until after next week's game before we condemn anyone. It's a little early. Yay! Football every week now for six months.

It takes rookie QB's about three years to develop in the NFL. So, it doesn't surprise me that Romo is sharper then Henson right now anyway.

Aikman didn't get comfortable as a starter until 1991 when Norv Turner was brought in. Danny White waited four years behind Staubach before taking over the reins in 1980 and Staubach didn't become the starter until midseason in 1971.

What other reports have we been getting, that Henson has looked sharp?
All the reports that I have read here and on other boards talk of how he is struggling.

Thats what I've seen too.

LaTunaNostra,

His three sacks came in a span of FOUR plays, no less.

If it was 3 in 4 plays I have a hunch it was more of a busted OL assignment then great plays by Johnson. Of course I wasn't there so I don't know.

But I had a roommate in college who was on the scout team, and one day he went on and on about how he got three sacks in practice. Later that day I watched film from that day's practice and all three of his sacks were busted OL plays. He didn't beat a single person any and one of those sacks. lol

parcells also had vinny t as our starting qb last year and troy hambrick as our starting rb the year before.. im beginning to wonder what he does know.

And the alternatives were who? A rookie Henson (after 3 years away from the game). Yeah, he sure scewed up and played the wrong QB!

And about Hambrick, who else was on the roster that can handle the load? Hambrick sucks, but at least he could handle a lot of carries w/o getting hurt. Incase you didn't notice, he did draft a RB the following draft. I'm sure you've heard of Julius Jones.

The first move he made in GB was to get Brett Favre. Wolf, I believe, was a member of the Jets organization before making the move to GB in 1992.

That's what it was! He ended up drafting Browning Nagle cuz Favre was off the board.

Ask Mr Johnson...

He means Tyson Thompson, not Torrin Tucker.

One name DREW BREES
That, to anyone with a hint of intelligence, should say it all.
Sometimes it takes a couple of years................

Well said. Although Brees has to prove he isn't a one year wonder.

First of all, I"m not your "Bro".

Second of all, if my head is in the clouds, then your head must be... well, everyone here knows the rest of that sentence.

No one said he doesn't have to show improvement. But he sure as hell doesn't have to play like a franchise QB this year. If you don't realize how difficult it is for a NORMAL rookie to come in and play in the NFL, then you sure as hell have no clue how difficult it is for someone to take THREE years off then come into the NFL.

Football 101... see if your local collage has that class. If it does, I recommend you take it.

Anyway, I can't seem to get a consistent report on how the QBs have performed so far including this scrimmage.

Some say Bledsoe has looked good, others say he hasn't.

The only consistent thing I had heard is that 'Henson has struggled'...until posters were saying that he 'looked the sharpest'. Seems like a lot of people are skewing the news based upon their personal bias.

Dale, can you please give me a quick blurb on how the QBs have done so far including this scrimmage. How would you rate them so far?
What could anyone possibly see from Bledsoe in one scrimmage that nine or ten years in the league haven't shown them?
