Let us just take a moment to mourn the 'Skins' season

You keep believing what you want. If it makes you feel better about your teams direction to place the blame on a HOF coach that your circus team ran off.

So Snyder told Shanahan to ignore drafting talent for the defense? Snyder also told Shanahan to walk into Haslett's defensive meetings and completely change his gameplans instead of replacing the guy if he thought he was incompetent? I'm just trying to figure out how you're going to support your unsubstantiated nonsense when it comes Mike Shanahan's tenure here. Maybe you'll pick up his "I didn't want McNabb, I wanted Bulger" banner.....as if that would've ended any differently.

If you think thats even a remote possibility there's a bunch of guys in Vegas that would love to take some of your $$$$$$

But around here, the mere thought being expressed would get you ridiculed beyond belief if it wasnt for the coddled protection that trolls get here.

Their defense will be improved, the running game is still good, they now upgraded their Qb - if only marginally.

writing them off is absurd.

Well, its obviously hard to draft when your team is consistently throwing away draft picks...in a 3 year period, your GM/Owner traded away three 1st round, two 2nd round, two 3rd round, one 4th and 5th round picks. that's 9 potential young starters that were not drafted and has proved to be crippling to the quality of talent on the team while Shanahan was there. Everybody know that Snyder wanted Griffin, he is the one who approved the trade, he is the person that is ultimately responsible for the worst draft pick and second worst trade in NFL history. Your owner is the reason that you are the cardinals of the NFCEast (consistent bottom dwellers), whose franchise is considered on the same level as the Jets and the Browns, and are the laughingstock of the NFL.

You can blame Shanny for whatever you want, but it's the owner who undercut him. and if you want to play the Shanny was responsible for the defense and bringing in Hasslet, then I guess I could use the Snyder brought in Shanny and thus is ultimately responsible .

OMG, will you guys shut up with your egotistical bull****. Go to ES, no one is thinking about your equally pathetic in the last decade performing team. I personally don't know a single Skins fan who gives a flying **** whether we beat you with our third string QB again. We would rather win a championship. Seriously, I can't believe so many of you actually think we care more about beating you guys than being a winning org. again. Hilarious.
You quoted a New England Patriots fan.

Don't believe me?

You couldn't be more wrong. I live in the D.C area, and every single Deadskin fan I try to have an intelligent football conversation with, always ends it with "as long as we beat Dallas, that's all that matters." If this is your thinking, I applaud you. But the majority of your fans just want to beat Dallas.

If my coach thought Kirk Cousins was the answer, I'd fire him on the spot.

This thread begs to differ:

Title: ***** the Cowboys

Funny enough, I couldn't find one for the other 30 teams much less the rest of the NFCEast who are also rivals. It appears to me that ES IS thinking about the Cowboys....a lot!

BTW NIBBY, you are sounding a little rattled in your post. I know its hard being a Skins fan the past 20+ years. I know its hard to be the cardinals replacement as door mats to the NFCEast, but that is no reason to get bent out of shape. It is possible that your team can be relevant again in the next 10 - 15 years ;).

That is just absurd

That was the Campo era regarding the Commanders though. Cowboy fans in DC hung up the "Campo owns the Commanders" banner, even with 5-11, 5-11, 5-11.

In reality the sentiment comes from 2 things

1) Projection from the Campo era

2) The fact that in any game that mattered with something on the line (2 NFC championship games, 2012 division title game) the Commanders came out on top.

Back to the thread topic

The team has a chance to have a real season now with Cousins starting. However, as I expect, Cousins will implode and we'll have a top 3 pick and a new HC.

I don't see any Cousins middle ground

That was my experience as well after spending nearly 25 years in DC (proper). Whenever the skins beat the Cowboys, the city would celebrate as if they won the SB. They actually hyped up the week before playing the Cowboys as Dallas Week. The Cowboys are in Commanders fans head like a disease.

When they know they'll have a bad season, they will usually say that. I've heard it way too many times and I live in NOVA. Specifically, Ashburn Virginia.. where the Skins use to practice.

In all honesty, you guys have a bunch of #2 and #3 QBs. Cousins is way to inconsistent. He's like a poor man's Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Explain to why the week before the Boys come to town, every news outlet in the area calls it "Dallas Week". They don't do this for any other team you all play.

We are 3-0 and just blew out the Baltimore Ravens, in Baltimore, 31-13.

We are 10-6 or better this season.

Book it.

Hahahaha just like a Commanders fan to use preseason game results to justify their season expectations. I guess the fandom is graduating from the offseason champions to the preseason champions now.

Unfortunately for you, Cousins will be just enough of an upgrade over RG3 to get two or three more wins...I can see them finishing with somewhere between five and seven wins. I say unfortunate for you because I think they'll do just well enough with Cousins and other offseason upgrades to miss out on the blue picks.

Chill.

I'll concede there is not a lot to brag about this century about the Cowboys compared to 1966-1983 and Jimmy Johnson's ride. But historically, many of your fans have practically sold their soul to beat Dallas....George Allen would not address one of his players by his first name Dallas, then the week he plays us only addresses us as the "G***D*** Cowboys" - works up the Commanders like it was Cliff Harris that crashed the plane into the Pentagon. Speaking of CH, he said playing in DC was his favorite game, because the fans/players emotionally bet the farm. I know - George Allen has gone to the gridiron in the sky, but some of that mentality persists. Did not link this, but it should not be hard to find. And I like RGIII, but Shannahan playing him after he injured his knee the first time should have gotten him fired immediately, as it got reinjured.

Is this a reflection on Griffin or the Commanders?

So facts become non-facts if the messenger changes?
Nope but the receiver of the message may be inclined to respond differently if they knew to whom they were speaking. Case in point: when NIBGoldenchild states "I personally don't know a single Skins fan who gives a flying **** whether we beat you with our third string QB again" or "Seriously, I can't believe so many of you actually think we care more about beating you guys than being a winning org"

--NIBGoldenchild is replying to someone he believes is a Cowboys fan. If @NIBGoldenchild thought that you were a Patriots fan, do you think his reply would have been the same? Of course not.
Have you ever been in a verbal fight and a SOB gets you to say something you would not ordinarily say? ;)
That depends. Are you an SOB?
