Let's face it - with 1 injury to Roy our WR position. . . . . is (possibly) better.

You might as well say that with one injury to Dixon our defensive end position is sunk. Neither Williams or Dixon has proved anything in a Dallas uniform. Either of them might be a drag on the team. And in Williams'
case . . . .

Miles Austin hasn't had the ball thrown to him enough to compare him to Brandon Marshall, that's a weak argument bro.

You ever think its due to Marshall being extremely better than Austin? I think his argument was a good one.

Sure I see a pattern. Thing is I don't give a damn about those other teams and I don't want us to end up being the ones that are screwed.

And Marques Colston did get hurt and had 3 catches going into week 8. Oh yea - Brees almost set the passing record.

Miles, Hurd and Stanback have combined for 44 catches in 8 seasons. There are some decent vet WR's on the market. I would like to see them bring one in to light a fire under someone's rear.

I've been saying this since we let T.O. go. Yes, we could use another WR.

Actually, if he is cleared, I wouldn't mind bringing in Plaxico Burress for a 1-year deal (which could end up in a long-term deal if everything works out). If Plaxico finally gets his head on straight, I think he and Roy Williams could be lethal!

you guys really don't get it, no one is saying anything is great.

But it's not all over, which is what your ilk keep trying to say.

Half the guys you all whine about can't be replaced with anything better, that's the whole point.

recent track record? lmao, why cause I don't agree with you I must be wrong?

you guys are a trip.

Actually, I think it's you who doesn't get it.

You can think that everything is teriffic if you want.

And we can think otherwise.

The truth is somewhere in between.

I don't have issues with someone having a differing opinion, that's what makes this place more interesting, my issue is when someone tries to tell me my opinion is wrong because I don't see it the way they do.

These are all vets that I would consider for the right price. They don't even have to make the team.
It would just be nice to have some camp competition and give Romo somone to throw to in these mini camps and training camp that knows what their doing, while we wait for the 3 musketeers to heal up.

Bennett, Drew
Booker, Marty
Burress, Plaxico
Hackett, D.J.
Hall, Dante
Hilliard, Ike
Jackson, Darrell
Jones, Matt
Jurevicius, Joe
Lelie, Ashley
Lloyd, Brandon
Toomer, Amani

Me personally I'd take a flyer on Matt Jones. Has he had off field issues. Sure. But I don't think he's percieved as a locker room cancer or a distraction to the team. Mike was my fave player so I think Matt can work thru this.

Signing anyone of these FA's may make the big 3 think that it might be time to **** or get off the pot. I can't see Julian Hawkins putting the fear of God in any one.

The media describes Jerry Jones as having had Matt Jones Fever when the player was in the draft and we have a couple of coaches with Jacksonville ties.

And every indication is we have zero interest in him despite that.

I'm not worried about bringing in some washed up veteran on his last NFL leg to motivate the young receivers this year, it isn't needed.

Roy Williams knows the eyes of Texas and the world are on him as he replaces the Player and is doing everything possible to prepare for the task. Miles Austin has his eyes on the 1 spot, not #2, and is a hard worker.

Patrick Crayton is using the Austin media hype as motivation to keep his starting job. Sam Hurd has modeled his work ethic after Terrell Owens'. Isaiah Stanback is fighting for his roster spot and all the newbs are jostling to take it.

It's simply time to see what we have at WR. We have been grooming these kids for awhile for this exact point in time. IMO austin is gonna be a huge huge HUGE factor in making this offense go. I think that bringing in a vet WR is not what this team needs at this point in time.

who said I thought everything was terrific?

only you guys.

if I say it's not as bad as you say it is, you guys jump down my throat for being an unrealistic homer.

When in reality, being a negative nancy isn't realistic at all, it's just the opposite.

no one says anything is terrific, except you guys who try to deal in extremes only, the fault is yours not me.

chicken little thought the sky was falling, so do you guys, when you get called on it you put some ridiculous comments on people, and comments that no one says.

nothing is as bad as you say it is, by your own admission you are wrong. But when I say it, somehow it's worth fighting about?

you guys are a trip man, really.

Yeah, you're the guy going the name-calling route and we have the issues.

Pot meet kettle.

I can't remember calling you an 'unrealistic homer', and I don't think Two Deep did either. You were the guy who insisted on going the 'Chicken Little' and 'negative nancy' route.

I don't remember reading anyone jumping down your throat, but more the reverse.

You're the guy dealing in extremes and then projecting it on everyone else.

okay man, you are completely clueless as to your own positions.

so I am not going to argue this further.

When people consistently insist things are worse than they are, they are being chicken littles.

when they refuse to see it they have blinders on.

if you can read that list twodeep put out there and not see how ridiculous your positions are you won't ever see it.

have a nice day, I won't ever discuss football with you again.

And you're the 'expert'.

It's either the way you see it, or it's wrong.

I think you're in the wrong forum, you'd be much more at home over at Philpott's Ranch Report forum.

They pretty much let people insult each other and name-call all day.

Based on last season, this is the worst set of WR's this team as fielded in over 40 years. Crayton 39 catches, 4TD. Williams 36 catches, 2TD. Austin 13 catches 3TD. Hurd and whomever's left, 0 catches, 0TD.

Give me Mike Renfro (or even Ray Alexander) and Kelvin Martin any day.

We're really leaning on Witten's 81 catches, 4TD; Bennett's 20 catches, 4TD; Barber's 52 catches, 2TD, Choice's 21 catches, and hoping Felix Jones can play more than a few games this year (doubt he remains healthy for the whole season, though).

the more you post like this the more you prove my point, that you can't see the forest for the trees.

And if you think I am insulting you, or trying to, I apologize, I was using satire to try to show you your folly.

clearly there is no getting through to you.

I'll apoligize as well.

I'm not looking to insult you either.

But I'm more interested in well thought, meaningful debate rather than trying to minimize an opposing point of view.

I - like others - think this team's current receiver depth is cause for concern. You - and several others do not.

I respect your opinion. I just disagree with it.

We'll just have to wait until the games are played to see which side of this case is right or wrong.
