Every Jerry critique is perfectly justifiable. Hell, it's echoed in offices around the league and by journalists who write about the game for a living. Jerry as
"incompetent, well-meaning GM" is hardly a well-kept secret. And as usual, you glide over, truncate, or flat out misrepresent the posts where I extend him credit. Tons of people here preferred one more year of Bill to Wade or Norv, so that puts me solidly in the CZ majority. Wade = the best of a bad situation. That's why I reluctantly signed off. Had Cowher or Fisher been available, however, Wade would never have been on the radar. Bill's sudden retirement put Jerry behind the 8-ball, and this was the result. Despite his journeyman status, Wade's hiring is not an occasion for optimism or depression. It's a "wait and see" moment at best. That's hardly a heretical statement. BTW, "uninspiring and underwhelming" is not the same as "I hope you tank."

I think you are more in love with the idea of going after BBGun than just listing it here and now for all to see.

Up to you if you want to do it or not...nobody is saying you have to do it.

The most recent time I can recall Jerry hackin' me off was the signing of Terrell Owens... I'm sure most of you remember how vehemently I was opposed to that...

Naturally, there have been other instances in the past where I disagreed with him, but I figured this one example, the first one that leapt to mind, would suffice...

We are in great salary cap shape, so your assertion that we are overspending for mediocre talent is wrong. That was true 5 years ago, but not anymore. Jones has surrounded himself with smart people (ie. Ireland) so his decisions have been much better the past few years.

time to close this thread. I think I got my point across and with Jerry's body of work post Jimmy as a GM it's pretty easy to see. He's a good owner but a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD GM.

4) Willing to spend millions on free agents.
5) Moved training camp to cooler California.
6) Innovative deals with companies like Nike.
7) Swallowed his pride and hired a real, proven coach like Bill Parcells.
