upping this thread for the culture, have at it folks, name names

Don't know why you upped the thread targeting me because I said a few days ago it wouldn't surprise me if Dez had a hundred yard game. I've been disappointed in his play and injuries but haven't given up on him or said he was done. We forced some throws to him tonight that contributed to some of Dak's struggles. They weren't on the same page on at least one play. I feel we would have been better suited targeting Beasley a little more to keep the chains moving to help sustain some drives. I want to see some consistency from Dez, lets see what he does next week.

No WR brings it every game.....go look at some of your heroes on other teams and look at how many stinkers they put it.......it will blow your mind....including ABrown and JJones

Dez needs to bring it more than once every few games if he wants to get back to elite status. There has to be some consistency.

Only Julio Jones, Brown, Thomas and Green were considered elite receivers by most two years ago along with Dez. The other receivers you mentioned are all moving past him. While Dez has been battling injuries and watching his production free fall the past two seasons Julio put up 136 catches 1871 yards last season. He's on pace for a 1700 yard season this year. I think he's the best receiver since Randy Moss. While Dez has been battling injuries and watching his production drop the past two years, Antonio Brown was putting up 136 catches for 1834 yards last season and he's on pace for 1300 yards this season. D Thomas put 105 catches last season for 1304 and is on pace for close to 1100 yards this season.

I could go on but I'm not going to waste a lot of time. Last night was only the 3rd hundred yard game Dez has had since the 2014 regular season and only his 5th TD since the 2014 regular season. He had a solid game last night, now we have to see if he can build on it and stay healthy. He's only had 15 catches for 263 yards and 2 TD's this season so he needs some big games the rest of the way to avoid another down season. Every receiver has an off week but you don't put up the kind of production Jones, Brown and the other receivers are putting up each season being injured a lot and not producing for games at a time.

There also has to be some consistency with the guy throwing him the ball. Half of Dak's incompletions were directed at Dez and almost all of them were Dak's fault. He needs to improve his downfield accuracy and velocity.

Dez has played 4 games this year.

In 3 of those 4 games he has either 100 yards receiving or a TD. Last night he had both. The one game he failed to reach those milestones was the first career start for a 4th round rookie qb who started the offseason 3rd on the depth chart.

What exactly has been inconsistent besides your inability to make a coherent argument?

Despite Julio Jones having 3 games under 30 yards this season, he's also had three 100 yard games and a 300 yard game. He's surpassed the 100 yard mark more times this season than Dez has since the end of the 2014 regular season. Since last season there hasn't been much to look at with Dez, he's either been out with an injury or not very productive. If you're going to talk about elite receivers, you have to look at consistency. There hasn't been the consistency or the production since last season with Dez.

All elite WRs have ups and downs......all of them....Dez has just been injured...comparing them over the last 1 1/2 years is stupid

You skip over 2013 with Julio when he had a broken foot and 580 yds for the season.....hmmmmmm

Dak was forcing some throws to Dez and one of those times they weren't on the same page. He hasn't worked with Dez in 3 weeks. We were better and Dak was better when we targeted Beasley more. He moves the chains and we've been able to sustain drives better with him. Beasley started coming up big late in the game. Dez doesn't get open enough and forcing balls to him will lead to trouble for Dak. They're going to have to build some trust and chemistry with each other.

Guys just move on...

Dez has been injured / hampered with injuries since last year against New York.. Any Cowboy fan that can't acknowledge that isn't worth arguing with.

I'm looking at Dez's body of work since the 2014 playoffs and he hasn't been very consistent or productive over that period. The numbers don't lie and if you compare them with his peers he comes up way short. A lot of it has been due to injury and some of it has been due to him not being able to get open. My argument has been a lot more consistent than Dez the past season and a half. Let's see if he can build off of last nights performance.

His production slipped only because of injury. Trying to pin some stuff on him not being able to get open is simply you being agenda driven.

Oh and he was open a ton last night...but Dak couldn't hit him.

I don't think you understand what body of work means. The phrase your looking for is cherry picked sample size

The last 1 1/2 years is how everyone is comparing him. It's a what have you done for me lately league and other receivers have moved ahead of him since the 2014 season due to his injuries and lack of production. Julio had a broken foot in 2013 and missed 11 games but he bounced back from that the following season with 104 catches for 1593 yards. Julio followed that up with 136 catches for over 1800 yards last season. Dez hasn't bounced back from his down season in 2015, he only has 15 catches this season for under 300 yards because he's been battling another injury.
