Want no part of Gruden. He took a steep dive after those 3 years he had success..

The main selling point for Gruden to me is that he had success with Al Davis as the owner. The fact that he could deal with a meddling egomaniac owner and still built a contender in Oakland is relevant. Tampa Bay ownership on the other hand when he went there was downright cheap, let most of their best players walk in FA, and that contributed a lot to his regression there IMO.

As for if he wants to come back, I thought I had heard he went into TV because his kids were starting to play high school ball and he wanted to be around for that. They should be graduated by now, and for a guy who does as many extra things like QB Camps and such, it wouldn't shock me if he might want to take one more stab at it. He's only 53, 14 years younger than our current DC.

Wouldn't shock me if he stayed in broadcasting either, but worth a phone call at least I think.

If the red one gets canned, Jerry will find what he considers the best offensive coordinator available pay him like a head coach and then tell the new "head" coach he has to work with him.....
Till that heirachy changes the results will be the same.

Maybe I am just old school and believe results actually matter.

Yes it is great to see the fruit finally bare on the tree that you plant. What is results.
I'm tired of the merry go round of stopping and starting just like JJones had become.
I think we're seeing results but it's coming in small increments and too damn slow.
This is my team. It's the one I chose and the cast of characters have flaws.

So I work with that. The thing I can't change is JJones. He is here and I have learned to
like his weird mannerisms. I believe in Garrett and his method. So on we go.

I have excepted this world as my enjoyment time.

Well, I wanted Harbaugh, Jay Gruden and Ron Rivera as coaches before they took their jobs in the NFL.

We're not going to a WCO coach. So consider Jon Gruden out. And I don't want him anyway. Too long away from coaching the game and his last few years in Tampa weren't pretty. Especially with how he handled the QB's.

I would make Marinelli the interim HC.

And honestly, the guy I would want here is Doug Marrone.

He can handle a young QB like Dak, he will find ways to get his players in the best position and you can bet that the defense will be far more physical and greatly improve.

Not a popular choice and quite frankly, it will never happen. But, I would love to see Doug Marrone here because I think it would work great.

And you are Jerry Jones' dream fan.

Don't forget to buy jerseys each year, you know, for effect.

I honestly think if Jones actually fires Garrett, he goes back to the Campo model and hires a company man. Watch out for Eberflus. He stuck with the team when they fired Ryan who brought him here and he has done nothing but climb up in status.

I like Marrone's coaching tree. He was okay at Syracuse, not great but did what he could with them. I wish he was a defensive minded coach though :D

I could easily picture Eberflus as a prime candidate to succeed Garrett in the event JG's termination eventually materializes. If nothing else, Eberflus should at least be reasonably capable of bringing about some positive change to our defense. He certainly is highly regarded and would be likely to retool the LB corps into a more talented unit right from the outset.

He would be change for change's sake and a grateful puppet that nobody knows could handle it. If it happens, looks like you are first in the line of support.

Maybe so. Let's face it -- Jerry's not likely to hire anyone other than someone amenable to allowing JJ to pull the strings that he so loves to pull.

Guys like Gruden and Harbaugh might sound desirable to many of us but they are simply too strong willed to be compatible with someone of Jerry's ego and mindset. It might work for a while but probably a short while at that. We need only to look at Jimmy and Parcells for proof.

I agree, he was given too much responsibility in Denver too soon. He clearly is a good offensive coordinator and he has been learning under the best for a while now.

Probably won't be a popular pick, but I the offensive players are tailor made for Shanahan
If we are seriously trying to work within a short window. May as well go all in on our offense since the defense is an after thought in the offseason.

I'm thinking Harbaugh might very well be one of those guys who's better in college. I think he's an authoritarian and that really doesn't play well in the NFL long term. It plays a lot better when you keep your best players three years from 18 or 19 till 21 or 22. The amount of turn over in the NFL isn't nearly as high and the guy getting in your face chewing on you consistently does tire and lose its effect I bet.

For those wanting Art Briles, I'd guess he's going to get a 2nd to 3rd tier NCAA job next year and have an AD that watches him like a hawk. I doubt any owner in as image conscious of a league as the NFL would hire him right now and I doubt his offense would work in the NFL also. I wouldn't expect anyone winning with a gimmick offense to have a real shot of getting the job here, we did help take out Chippy.

I'm guessing if Garrett is fired the long term replacement would be someone like Shaw or a NFL coordinator who's younger. I think Jerry wants a 20 year coach, which is what he's tried to get with Garrett.

Not arguing that at all.

That is part of the frustration.

Why people do not quite understand how Jerry Jones is a detriment to this team is beyond me.

Want Harbaugh? Or Shaw. Well, there is Jerry Jones.

It is like waiting for an ignorant and greedy despot to finally die before church bells ring and real hope is renewed.
