Ok Please be serious in this thread no Garret or Jones bashing?

I know fans have been complaining for years about Garrett ! So let's say at the end of this Season he is let go and you get your wish what do you do.

Who would you want for Garretts replacement, do you replace linehan and marinelli also, if so who do you bring in ?

Please give serious answers

------------------------

Rules:

No answers like :
Belichek, Tomlin or any coaches you know are not going anywhere and we are not gonna get.
No sarcastic answers like no one will work as Jerry's puppet!

I really want to know who you seriously would like !

If Garrett is fired we would then need a head coach

Honestly, for me it would be Gruden and nobody else. Only reason for Gruen would be to get Tony a ring.
Gruden managed to take a SB Tampa team hand delivered to him and drive it into the ground in a couple seasons. No thanks.

seriously?

How many new england assistants have to fail before people realize they are people who follow orders and not give them.
How many coaches do we have that have been to several super bowls, or have been part of a winning culture?

Sean McDermott Carolina Panthers D coordinator is who I would look at. This defense needs to be addressed big time before we can start getting serious again.
That sounds good, but dont get your hopes up , JG will be here a long time.

just mike pope.

Not the same though, being part of a winning culture and being the reason for it are much different. that is why all those mike holmgren assistants were awful with the exception of andy reid.

Bing-the-heck-O

After about the 10th person going on about a New England DC, I'm shaking my head and wondering if people have been asleep for the last 15 years. It's like Tampa signing Alvin Harper to help instill a winning mentality. It's Belichick people.

Just as Jerry is the common denominator here, Mumbles is the common denominator there.

Harbaugh would be my first choice if possible. He was known in San Fran for his running game and defense. We got the line and RBs for the running game part and maybe he could help fix the defense.

Second choice would be Gruden, because at least if he fails, his press conferences will at least be interesting lol.

Beast I was trying to give some acknowledgment to the reality of the situation. It's not a black and white situation we all find ourselves in.
I do see process and whatever you see I can't address as I dont live inside your head.

I believe that day by the day method Garrett believes in is somewhat fail proof if the person in charge has the goods to deliver.
So proving points for me is can Garrett bring all these pieces together and get us consistently in the play offs. It's been too *+#* slow.
I just think Garrett's got the goods to lead today's generation of football players toward championship football.

Maybe I am just old school and believe results actually matter.

If garrett gets fired then we see the exact same posts and complaints with a new name and hair color attached to them
Whats funny is that the exact same posters who had the pitchforks out for Wade are the same ones arguing patience with Garrett.

Wade wins 2 division titles and a playoff game in 3.5 seasons.................."he is a terrible coach, has to go"

Garrett wins 1 division title and a playoff game in 5.5 seasons..................."Be patient, he is building something great here"

Hypocrisy at its finest.

Harbaugh would win immediately here. Had they hired him in 2011 who knows how good we could have been. Its not happening though. he couldn't get along with the GM of a structured organization, he would never put himself in a situation I imagine where jerry or stephen can over rule him on personnel and other decisions.

although he worked for al davis so maybe none of no anything.

none of this matters anyway Garrett is going to be here for a long time. win or lose.

With the youth we have, that's the only time I feel a college coach is a good fit. Also, I think college coaching is not as different from pro coaching anymore.

College coaches in order of preference...
Jim Harbaugh (Clearly everyone now see the problems in SF were related to the QB.)
Urban Meyer
Chris Petersen
David Shaw
Jim Mora Jr
Paul Chryst

I think all of these folks could make the jump to the pros pretty efficiently. Also liking the early results on Charlie Strong but I don't want him to leave UT.

Pro coaches in order of preference...
Wes Phillips. Don't even bother interviewing other candidates.

Ok, seriously...
Mike Shanahan
Russ Grimm, TEN
Winston Moss, GB
Joe Decamillis, DEN (unless there's bad blood)
Bob Sutton, KC
Jerry Gray, MIN
Jim Bob Cooter - OC in Detroit (jk)

Surprised nobody mentioned Shanahan (or I missed it). Clearly, again, the QB became/was a prima donna. Also has a good relationship with the Jones' and familiarity with NFC East. His affinity for the run game and his experience developing QBs seems like a great fit to me. Also E. Illinois ties with Romo.

Want no part of Gruden. He took a steep dive after those 3 years he had success. I also don't think he has any desire to coach again or at least right now. I'm sure he's making good money doing the MNF gig and the stress is astronomically less. Same as when some thought Cowher would come back at some point but he won't, either.

Although at this point, anyone but Garrett can be seen as an upgrade since it will be addition by subtraction. Preferably someone who has experience. Garrett had zero and we suffered all these years because of it. Someone we won't have to train on the job, especially with a young QB.

I think once you get out of coaching awhile and you get a television gig where you can be a coach, analyze the game and not have all the headaches associated with coaching, it's difficult to get back into coaching.

Besides, for the good ones, it's easy to get a coaching gig. It's harder to get a television gig where you can get paid to talk about football and probably even harder once you leave the television booth to reclaim one of those coveted football analyst positions.
